Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThere were a lot of stairs for my elderly parents to navigate and the stairwell lighting was poor for someone with bad eyesight (and it didn’t come on until you were halfway down). And the twin beds were a bit odd - one was higher up than the other making it accessible for only one of our party which meant we had to organise ourselves differently to use the rooms. Not the end of the world but some photos in the advert would have made that clearer, I think only the double is shown. Parking was limited. We found a spot every day but often it was the only spot available so we we lucky - during peak season I wouldn’t want to have a car there!
Beautiful hotel in a great location at edge of old town. Very nicely done up, clean, tranquil, amazing bougainvillea plants everywhere. We had a lovely view across the rooftops from the balcony. Breakfast was also great, another wonderful setting, with small changes every day to sample different greek foods. If you are vegetarian just remember to explain in advance and ask that your food is on different plates if you don’t want cheese touching meat. Kitchenette was well stocked for our minimal needs (crockery, knives etc.). Washing machine provided too. We were able to leave our bags for a few hours after check out and before departing the city. Day trips to Heraklion-Knossos and to the south were very easy from here - the drive over the hills was fantastic.

CanadaSomething you should know if you come by car, and no reflection on the property, is that there is no parking in the Old Town. The streets are too narrow so coming back from a day trip meant finding a parking space, which was a lottery as everyone who lives in the Old Town needs to park overnight. Infact the place is close to options around the stadium which was good, especially for luggage transfer.
An oasis within Old Rethymno, this was a lovely old courtyarded property that had been restored, maintaining all the rustic charm but with the modern touches and facilities you need on vacation. The location was good, close to parking options with a grocery around the corner and only a short walk to more bars, restaurants and shops, and of course the fortress and waterfront. We came in late March, so the pool and breakfast weren't up and running, but we really enjoyed our time in this property. Our room had a balcony over the street with a sea view and a roof terrace.

United KingdomAlthough as it is is in a side street there is no car park; but there are free public car parks within 5-10 mins walk of the hotel which are simple to find as long as you know to look for the bus station and football pitch.
We have stayed in the old Town many times so we knew where we were located even though we have never stayed there before. Although the hotel is split between 2 properties this was no issue as our apartment had plenty of space with a separate bedroom to the living/kitchen area and a bathroom and it was just a 1 minute walk across the street to the other part of the hotel (pool is there and breakfast is served there). There was plenty of light from the windows and we had two balconies, one at the front over looking the street and the other internally to the courtyard. The kitchenette is really convenient and the bonus was the little top loading washing machine! Decor was clean and modern probably the best space we've had in all the visits to the area. Great location for the Old Town, Fortezza, bus station, out door market and pick up points for trips.

AustraliaCannot find fault with anything really - if I was being super critical then I would say that there was no place to hang the shower head on the wall, so it had to be hand held.
This accommodation is of a high standard. The location is ideal for the Old Town of Rethymnon- within a one to two minute walk you are there in the heart of the action. The breakfast was good and had variety and the staff were pleasant and helpful. There is a plunge pool to cool off after a long walk around the town.

AustraliaOur apartment had steep stairs up to the space the children slept, not ideal but they were safe the whole time and old enough to be responsible. With very small children, if booking a family room, I would check that they don't assign this particular room.
The location is perfect for exploring the old town, 20 min walk/5min drive to the beach suited us thanks to the dunk pool on site. We stayed with 2 families in separate apartments, every breakfast the lovely staff set us up at one big table. Our child was sick one day and they were so kind and helped us find a doctor and gave us extra sheets etc to keep him comfortable. We were so happy withe the Cretian hospitality, it made our stay so memorable!

United KingdomWhilst you can discern from the website pictures its size, the swimming pool is really very small and can only take 1 or 2 people sensibly. The pool area is, however, very quiet and sunloungers are provided for relaxation. Parking can be a problem, especially on market days(Saturdays and Thursdays), and there is a walk of about 30 metres from the nearest parking spots, all of which are on-street. Note that the beach which is about 10-15 minutes walk away is not sand and you cannot swim there, although the adjacent harbour area is very pleasant.
Location great for accessing the old town, its restaurants and sites. A corner shop at the end of the street could be used for small items with a larger supermarket about 10 minutes walk away. The breakfasts were really good with different dishes served directly to your veranda table every day. Each dish was prepared fresh that morning and generally included an egg/omelette dish, some fruit or yoghurt as well as cake and tea/coffee . Irini the hostess was really helpful and spoke very good English. Suite 2 is good in hot weather as it is stone built staying cool across the day.

AustraliaIn our suite, there was a leak under the kitchen sink that caused a mouldy smell. It was evident every time we opened the cupboard door to put rubbish in the bin. Given the location, the room was very dark. Maybe some brighter lights may help.
The property was in the old town, close to the Fortezza. Breakfast was served every morning by the beautiful Irini. She was very knowledgeable and welcoming.
