Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThere was a crying baby that made it difficult to enjoy the room but that is out of the hotel's control. The wifi was spotty at times and pretty week in some parts of the room. Not having a TV and having a table instead would be wonderful really.
The interior garden was very nice as was the quite that it received most of the time. The isolation of the Autumn room was great. Location was easy to get to from the bus and there were several places to go nearby.

AustraliaNothing - it was all great
The room that we stayed in was huge and spacious. Bed comfortable. Everything was clean and the little balcony we had was lovely as well. The hotel was on the quieter part of old town but a 2 min walk to the restaurants/shops so perfect location. We walked from the local bus port which was about a 5 minute walk. The hosts were super helpful - would 100% stay here again.

South AfricaThe only comment is that a non-slip mat would be useful in the shower, as the shower floor is quite slippery when it gets wet. Other than that, brilliant accommodation!
We stayed in the Spring room, which had its own private balcony overlooking the courtyard. It was very close (a couple hundred meters) from the Venetian Fortezza and the seafront, which was very convenient and beautiful. The hotel is located in the old town, where no cars drive in the narrow streets - which makes it perfect for wandering around and looking through all the souvenir and clothing shops, super markets and cafe's and restaurants. We will definitely be back, and will definitely book in at Sohora Hotel. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to accomodate our requests and assist us with arranging transport. Our best stay in Crete!

GermanySometimes a slightly off smell from the old plumbing system coming into the bathroom...but then this is a historical building.
Quiet room in the old town. Nicely furnished room with a mini kitchenette. Comfortable and quiet air-conditioner. Breakfast available onsite for reduced price.

SerbiaThe facility does not have its own parking lot, but free parking means free city parking near the facility. The average time of searching for a parking place after returning from the beach is about 10.15 minutes. Beds of slightly smaller dimensions for big guys, especially a bed for two. :)
In addition to the comfort, pleasant staff and cleanliness at a high level, what I would highlight is the free welcome breakfast and coffee on the house on the last morning. The room is cleaned every three days (towels are changed, dishes are washed, the room is completely cleaned). Communication with the owner at a high level, a pleasant and kind guy who was always helpful.

United KingdomHard to find a parking spot during the night. Much easier during the day (lunch time) but good price on a big private car park at 12 minutes away (port). I personally regret renting a private car as we didn't use it that much, plenty bus options.
The location was the ideal one. The staff genuine, very friendly and helpful, extra kind to accommodate everything we needed. Perfect ambiance and cozy apartments (as in the photos - stayed in 2 of them). But the location/ positioning, again, I think was the best advantage - right at the west side of the town center (Rethymnon by the way it's the best place to stay if compared with Chania or Heraklion) with a beautiful piazza and very picturesque restaurants / terraces wich make the place seem like in a movie at night, far from the noisy centre but 5 minutes walking from any kind of shops and restaurants anyway. The beach is about 20 minutes away (walking). I'd say the staff and the location are the two best things :)

SerbiaA really nice and authentic looking boutique hotel in the center of the Rethymnon old town. The rooms are spacious, well kept, tidy with wooden furniture and decorations giving the feel of a warm home as in the olden days. Each room has an air conditioner. There is a big terrace if you want to sun bathe. The backyard of the hotel is also lovely, surrounded by plants and flowers. You can have breakfast there (which is really good) and is a true refreshment in the morning. The staff is really welcoming and helpful and try to be mindful of the environment and sensible about use of resources (electricity/water) which we really like. So stick to the guidance provided.

United KingdomThe breakfast sadly didn’t match up to this very special place
A lovely quirky charming apartment, fully equipped with a kitchenette with a good sized functional bathroom. To enter the apartment, internally there are some stairs and from the windows one looks down on a very pretty ‘Bustro’ garden area, where we in the morning had our breakfast, perfect location for the fabulous Old Town and a 5 minute walk to the bus station. We would stay here again

everything. The property accommodation was huge (winter room) with a separate sitting area, balcony, kitchen and bedroom. it was beautifully decorated with care and taste. The location is right next to the fort and literally right next to the old town so it’s perfect. we found street parking reasonably easily. Also the staff were delightful and always helpful with a smile on their face. we would highly recommend this hotel

United KingdomGreat location, we loved it was in the old town, and near a beautiful town square with lots of restaurants, packed out with locals in the evenings. We enjoyed the 10min walk to the more commercial beaches. Amazing staff, (we didn't catch her name) but the main chef for the cafe was so lovely and her breakfasts were delicious! Comfortable room. Lovely courtyard to enjoy breakfast.

GermanyShower very small, small entrance/kitchen/sitting area. Kitchen equipment almost non existing and not the cleanest. Very loud refrigerator. Very noisy due to the taverns in front until very late night, at least on the weekend.
Very friendly host, very nice, small sleeping room. Very close to the charming city center and no problems finding a free parking nearby (max. 400-500 metres, situation in May).

LithuaniaStaff unhelpful. The accomodation had a cooking stove, steam collector and a pan, but no knives, no other cooking utensils or pots. Staff said they can't help us at all. We felt it was a way to force us to eat in their tavern downstairs. Dishonest and false advertising, would not recommend. On top of that, they were always looking for a way to charge extra (washing clothes, 10 pcs - 20eur). Room was dark and cold.
Location decent
