Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaWe were on the lower level, and there was noise from walking and moving around upstairs that night.
View of ferry dock and water travel! Gorgeous spring flowers, native trees, and plantings! Great outdoor seating where we could visit with a friend who met up with us.

United States of AmericaWhen we arrived at the reception desk, Cali ( young woman) was talking to a couple who were guests of the hotel and she wasn't very nice to them or us. They complained about the noise coming from the room above their room, Cali was dismissive, did not apologize and only offered to move them to a more expensive room. After they left, she complained about them to us. We asked if it was possible to have a quieter room with no one above us since my friend is a light sleeper. I'm sure she ignored our request. We asked if the room was air conditioned and she said that it should be! When we got to our room, we looked for the thermostat and couldn't find one. I walked back to the reception desk and told Cali that we couldn't find the thermostat. She said it was lower and behind the furniture. I got back to the room and we did not find the thermostat anywhere. I double-checked your website and you don't list a/c under amenities. Why didn't she tell us that you don't have air conditioning instead of lying to us? It was unfortunate because you have a lovely place. When we inquired about the room rate, she quoted a much higher rate than many of the online booking sites. We used Booking.com. I'm surprised that you find it preferable for us to use a 3rd party rather than booking directly with you. I do want to tell you that the next morning the woman on duty at the desk was delightful. She was older with long gray hair. She said that she loved her job! it certainly showed. She was great.
The view is lovely and the room was comfortable.

United States of AmericaWe had not been aware that there would be another unit above us. The couple was quiet, so it was no a problem, but one can hear the footsteps of people walking. The young lady who checked us in was polite, but not very relatable. And when I inquired about a change of room after finding out there were people staying above us, she told me any unit with our "configuration" would be an additional $60. However, there were several identical units right next to us that were and stayed unoccupied. She could use a little coaching in how to relate to her customers, maybe with a friendly smile?
The location is superb for catching the ferry the next day. Great view of the water and the ships coming and going. We liked being able to step out directly onto a patio and the lawn in front.

United States of AmericaThe only issue I had is after leaving I realized that I had been charged twice for my room. Once by booking.com and the other via the hotel. I called the hotel though and they apologized and said it happens sometimes. They were helpful in giving me a refund.
Our room had amazing views overlooking the sea and harbor. It was cozy and had all the facilities needed such as a fridge and microwave. The harbor was in walking distance which was very helpful for our trip to Orcas Island. Anacortes also offers lots of food places to eat and things to do. The hotel grounds were beautiful and had lots of wildlife roaming. The hotel offered free parking, a laundry room, a delicious free breakfast with hot food. You could sit and eat breakfast in the lovely breakfast room looking over the water. This place is gorgeous and I would happily return.

United KingdomThe steps down to the room was hard to navigate with a big case. Breakfast wasn't cooked but was effective so not a dislike but just something to flag for those expecting.
The bed was comfy, the room was spacious and the bathroom was perfect for a short stay with a big mirror. There was a little facility to prepare a drink and food if you needed. The overall value of the room for the size was great. The location of the hotel was amazingly close for exploring into the San Juan islands. The car parking facilities were great and they also have an electric charging point which is super handy. Overall this hotel is exactly what i was looking for on a solo adventure and i would happily stay there again. Great value for money

United States of AmericaThis place is really for people traveling by car and intend to take the ferry. If you do not have a car, there are no restaurant around. One must call a taxi to go to town or call for a take out..
Great place if you are traveling by car and want to take the ferry the next morning.

CanadaAlthough we had a kitchenette (Unit 2), it was a bit short on drinking glasses, knives and forks and the bottle opener was broken. Luckily I always travel with a basic set of everything we need. I did mention it to Reception on departure.
The location was great, room was comfy, the pets were welcome and we had a nice wee balcony to sit on and watch the ferry come and go.

United States of AmericaIt was initially hard to find the hotel office, but we finally figured it out. The bed was comfortable, but for some reason the mattress really retained our body heat. The bathtub was worn and the porcelain was rubbed off in one part of it. The breakfast had minimal choices, but it was a nice big room.
I loved the view of the grounds and the water from our room. There were about 4 wild rabbits and a herd of deer on the property as well! The room was nice, clean and was a good value. It was also a fairly quiet location with minimal road noise.

United States of AmericaBreakfast was adequate but pretty much the same every day and didn't like having to get some items from the office. Toilets need to be upgraded--had wobbly seats and were very low for aging legs. Kitchen utensils were minimal. Also had to really be careful when walking on the grounds--especially on the blacktop which was quite uneven with unespected dips and humps--falling was a danager.
Great location. Beautiful view. Fireplace. Spa tub. Ability to fix snacks in room. Quiet setting.

United States Minor Outlying IslandsThe outlets are terrible, any plug you put in will fall out. Also not a lot of them to charge various items. The toilet ran all night, we mentioned it on our way out, the staff said they’d see to it asap.
The view is amazing, perfect location and very near the ferry. The rooms are smart but cleverly used.
