Cute little oregon beach town, great if you want to avoid the cannon beach crowds with a similar beach & views. Seaside brewery is a must. Hit the waves if you can, the water is great! Almost everything is within a 30min walk, or 10min drive.
Grants Pass was an excellent base for exploring the wine district of this part of Oregon. The wine was very good and produced with great enthusiasm. The wineries offered an excellent experience.
Portland Oregon is lovely, the people are kind, the streets are clean. Seems like a great city to raise a young family or maybe even retire. Transportation is great, , we enjoyed Bridgeport Brewery great food and service, and Yama Sushi excellent.
We have been staying in Lincoln City for 3 weeks for many years. We rent a vacation home or condo . What we love is that it is a great Central location so that we can decide to revisit the South Oregon coast or head up to some of the North Oregon areas. We can stay a night and our vaction home is still waiting for us in Lincoln City. The beach is outstanding at any time of the year and in any weather. There are lots of interesting Gift Shops & Antique shops which are perfect for rainy day activities. Restaurants abound in this town and we love the Seafood Buffet at Chinook Winds on Fridays, it is great value. We tried 'Mist' at Surfside for lunch and it was superb. Mo's in Taft is not as good as it used to be, the service was excellent but the food now is lacking so we won't be returning. TIP! If you are over 50 go to the Casino and register for a 'Boomer' card. Then on Tuesday mornings you can get a fabulous breakfast Buffet for $4.99.
Bend was my favorite place to visit in Oregon. There was plenty of parking so you could enjoy downtown. Also, a nice variety of restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised to find a Lebanese restaurant, called "Joolz." In this mountainous village. There was a nice variety of pubs and restaurants to choose from that would suit anyone's palate. For those shoppers, cute shops in downtown or a quick drive to the outskirts to find outlet shopping. Also, one could find a variety of outdoor sports to partake in, from sledding, to skiing and snowboarding, to snowmobiling at Mt. Bachelor and the various snow parks. Bend offers something for everyone!
My favorite places where the Promenade and the central street with beautiful bistros and vintage diners. I spent some time at Funland and also enjoyed italian food at Nonni's. Seaside is a nice stop in the Oregon roadtrip.
A fairly central location which gives you proximity to most of Northern or Central Oregon Coast within an hour or two and Portland and Salem. Numerous choice of restaurants for the varying budgets. A bit of everything fun for every age and activity eg. Hiking, biking, romantic walks, shopping, golf, spa treatments, kite flying, fishing, crabbing etc.
Leave enough time to see all the history. The Museum alone could be half a day of exploring. We didn’t get to see the Oregon Trail interpretive Center and regret not being able to fit that in.
Tualatin is a nice picture perfect suburb of the over all Portland, Oregon area. There isn't much there. It is quiet with a few restaurants to choose from. There are no malls or very many shopping venues.
I chose one night in llwaco, Washington on the way into the area, and one night in Seaside because it was convenient to the highway home. With so many things to do in Seaside, including beach activities like kite flying, cool shops, great food, we wanted to take pictures and enjoy our final day doing a variety of things. It brought back many great memories from our other visits to the Oregon coast. I recommend taking a helicopter ride!
We were actually given a choice of floors and by suggestion choose the top floor (4th), which we were very happy with. The beds are large and comfortable. The room was clean and we actually had a view of the bridge from our window. The ocean is not viewable from the Hotel. The hotel is very close to the Oregon Aquarium though it would still be a long walk. We drove and given it was a week day there was plenty of parking available. There is a tourist shopping area just behind the hotel that is easy walking that is enjoyable.
This was the absolut surprise on our trip through Oregon… Hotel and staff just wonderful but the restaurant was exceeding everything 👍 Amazing food presented by an extraordinary chef cook. Best steak we ever had ( in years!!) and a homemade Bolognese with fresh herbs … original Italian. Service was outstanding, the waitress was the friendliest person and very dedicated to her job. Hopefully everyone gets the chance to stop by and meet this wonderful place to be and to meet and talk to the chef 😊
Staff was friendly, room was clean and the hotel was in a great location downtown. I didn't spend much time in my room or at the hotel in general, but everything was great. I got an egg sandwich to go and wasn't expecting too much other than for it to hit the spot for the drive home and it was fantastic! I appreciate that they start serving coffee and breakfast at 6:00 a.m. I also like the theme of the hotel - and ode to the history of the University of Oregon.
My dog and I were stranded due to weather closing the freeway. I was able to make reservations and get a room within a few minutes. The staff was very accommodating. They even had toiletries to give me as I had nothing with me. It’s a beautiful hotel. Sitting in the restaurant for breakfast, it felt like I was at an island destination instead of in Southern Oregon. The room was clean and beautifully decorated.
Seaside
If you want a nice place to stay that has some character, this is the place for you. This is a local hotel with a great owner interested in making your stay exceptional. If you want the chain hotel with no character, stay there. The owner gave us great local recommendations for food as well as sights to see and ones to avoid. It was a great place for a night on a two day trip to the Oregon coast.
Hampton Inn Redmond Oregon location is within minutes of where our family lives. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Hotel is super clean with more than adequate parking. Breakfast buffet offers delicious hot foods and is well stocked with a variety of beverages, fruit, yogurt, pastries, etc. We will definitely be staying at this same location in the future.
Rockaway Beach
As a frequent visitor to our beloved Oregon beaches......Great price for beachfront! Couldn't be happier with the apartment. Our host was available for any questions, which was only about WIFI password...I could have very well overlooked that in the communications. They should put it on the fridge or something just to be handier. Overall, I was very happy.
Huge rooms. Very few people in this huge complex. Good part of town to stay. Best hotel value in town! Hotels downtown are all funky. Eat dinner and lunch at The Oregon Grain Growers Distillery Restaurant downtown. Great food and drinks!!! No breakfast when we were there. But Denny's was very good believe it or not. Museum is good.
Seaside
Liked the staff at the desk. Friendly and helpful! The room was not as nice as expected, given we stayed for a week and expected "room with a view," meaning frontside room facing beach. Liked the location of the hotel otherwise. Beds, in all honesty, need better mattresses! Still, it was Oregon and oceanside.
This is one of our favorite places to go on the Oregon Coast. The hotel itself has been a great deal sitting on the beachfront in Lincoln City. While it hasn't been the most high end hotel, it has always been comfortable, and adequate given the cost. This year - our experience changed dramatically.
The location was perfect. Less than 5 minutes to the Oregon Aquarium! The staff was so friendly. Breakfast was impressive for a hotel. Pool and hot tub were clean and such a big hit with my grandsons! Across the street is a great restaurant and chocolate/gift shop! So nice to have it all so walkable!
I thought $400 a night was absurd for the quality of the room and breakfast. All of my other hotels in Oregon were $250-350. Definitely not worth $900 for two rooms for 1 night. Rooms smelled musty, breakfast was minimal. Location was the one bonus and the desk personnel were nice
This was the one of the most unique hotels i have had the pleasure of staying at. The history of the building and the abstract "wonderland" decor was throughout amazing. I was an experience to stay at the Portland Oregon Royal Sonesta.
The location is fantastic for the University of Oregon (slightly further from downtown Portland). Room was fine - spacious and with all the amenities and more you would expect in a budget hotel. Some wonderful walks across the river.
We always love staying at this hotel as we travel to and from southern Oregon. It's about half way between our home and where our family lives. The rooms are very spacious and we love having a room with a view of the lake.
Everything! The best hotel since I've been on the PCT trail! Bicycles were fantastic to get around to do my errands for my hike. Even got into my room 2 hrs. early!! Absolutely the best hotel in Bend, Oregon.
This hotel is in a great location. You are able to access many restaurants and shopping places. We were not familiar with the area but it was easy to get around and it wasn't far form the University of Oregon.
Right downtown, near great brewery, Fort George, but not noise. Charming old hotel refurnished. Boutique Hotel. Norblad Hotel was built in the 1920’s by Albin W. Norblad who was later a governor of Oregon.
My family and I were meeting halfway in Lincoln City to have an Oregon coast adventure. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The room was clean, the staff were friendly. The location is great.
Excellent location directly across from transit and the Oregon Convention Center. Comfortable beds, friendly staff and affordable prices make the Inn the ideal conference hotel on a budget.
