This is a great place to stay for when you want to have your own private quiet space (and a bit more space than a typical hotel room), but still want to be cared for by hotel-like staff. We landed on this place because I wanted to stay in a typical Ryokan, but my husband wanted his own bathroom. It was the best stay of our Japan trip out of 3 hotels that were all far above average. It feels very secluded and private, there are around 10 apartments in total and everyone has their own entrance. There's a coin washing machine as well. There is a small breakfast buffet with really great coffee and they provide some free snacks during the day as well I believe. All in all it feels really kind and caring.

Excellent location, fantastic house. Convenient to everything you want or could need. James, the owner, goes above and beyond to help you enjoy your stay at the house and time in kyoto. His guidebook on what buses to take to attractions was incredibly helpful, and the wall map to show what attraction is in which direction. The 3 bedrooms upstairs allowed our family of 5 to have space, and the upstairs and downstairs toilet was very helpful. The house is located from the west exit at kyoto station, near JR office and trains.

Amazing location and incredibly accommodating hosts. Unlike other big hotels you really get a sense that everyone there cares and wants to ensure the enjoyment of your stay. We were travelling with a 10 month old and they ensured we had everything we needed. The location cannot be beat right in the heart of Gion, we found ourselves not worrying about the crowds since we were right in the centre of the action and could explore the area whenever we wanted.

L'amfitrió és molt atent i amable. Et sents com a una típica casa japonesa. Molt recomanable. Zona tranquil·la però ben connectada, on pots viure la part tradicional de Kyoto.

Tres habitacions, una amb futons que no vam fer servir. Ben equipada. El bany molt bé i situació bona. L’estació de Inari fel JR està a uns 10 mins caminant, i la de la linea Keihan a 3, que et deixa en un plis a Gion i voltants. Bona ubicació per veure la ciutat. L’aire acondicionat va molt bé també, i silenciós al dormitori.ManelGrup
