Centrally located in Longyearbyen, Basecamp Hotel is a traditional trapper's lodge-style property just 15 minutes’ drive from Longyearbyen Airport. The airport bus stops right outside. The hotel offers individually decorated rooms with driftwood furniture, fur rugs and free WiFi. Perfect location right in the center of town. Fun, rustic “Arctic explorer” style. Room is cozy and comfortable.

The game room is also available to hire for private functions. Situated within 1.3 km of Svalbard Church and 1.2 km of Svalbard Museum in Longyearbyen, Svalbard Hotell | Lodge offers accommodation with seating area. This apartment provides a bar. The apartment features mountain views, a sun terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. The apartment was quite spacious. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cutleries. Remembering some of the reviews, we took some ingredients with us and brought some from the supermarket nearby. We had two bedrooms, but one the bedrooms did not have a closet. The apartment was almost always at a comfortable temperature. We would love to be back here. Sound and air insulations were really good. We had a good overall stay!

Affordable place to make your base camp for Svalbard adventures. The staff was AMAZING, if you have the chance to talk to Ruth from Bristol, you will be utterly delighted! I was surprised that even as a hostel they left you nice robes and had house keeping tidy up daily. The common area had a great breakfast and a nice bar (and hot chocolate station!) and was a nice place to chill in the morning or the evening.

Top class hotel and excellent accommodation. Was lucky to stay in a Junior Suite and was well worth it. Welcoming staff and the fact you change from boots to slippers makes it feel like home. Should we return to Svalbard the Funken will be our first and only choice. Loved the breakfast too and the Argentinean waitress was so nice. A friend within minutes.

Elena makes everyone feel so welcome from the initial arrival and throughout one's stay. The guesthouse is welcoming too. Fresh, very clean and tidy. Elena often makes delicious treats and leaves nibbles out for hungry travellers. The kitchen is excemplary with your own fridge & cupboard but she has tea, coffee sauces, muesli etc to use. Recommend for sinle. Families, couples, & friends. Near bus stop. 10-15 mins walk to shops cafes etc. Perfect.

Everything! Funky style, lovely atmosphere, and breakfast. Bathrooms were very clean and spacious. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay.
