We also have The Game Room, complete with a pool table, foosball, darts and bar. A laid-back space to enjoy music and games in a great atmosphere. The game room is also available to hire for private functions.

Amazing place! Good, clean room with nice view and clean shared bathrooms. Super friendly and helpful staff at the restaurant and the reception. Very good location on a short walk from the center. Vinterhagen restaurant has a delicious Arctic menu (tried Seal steak and Arctic trout - both great) and the plants and trees all around you in the winter garden make the place super cozy and unique. The breakfast was also super good with everything you need. Would definitely book it again if I come back to Svalbard.

Very much enjoyed staying at Funken Lodge. Three points I would like to highlight in particular: Friendliness of each and every team member. They really want you to have a great time! Very cozy and comfortable lounge areas where you can hang out before or after your activities. The breakfast and dinner in the restaurant are exquisite, and the view from the tables is just mind-blowing.

Top class hotel and excellent accommodation. Was lucky to stay in a Junior Suite and was well worth it. Welcoming staff and the fact you change from boots to slippers makes it feel like home. Should we return to Svalbard the Funken will be our first and only choice. Loved the breakfast too and the Argentinean waitress was so nice. A friend within minutes.

I booked a room at Coal Miner's Cabins for a quick holiday with a friend. Due to maintenance work, the hostel was closed, but I was contacted, and my stay was upgraded for free to Funken Lodge hotel, which is much more expensive and luxurious. Very professional behaviour from the hostel.

I’ve stayed here before and enjoyed it again. They have a great lobby area, which also functions as the eating area which I always make use of, often working in there and taking calls. The rooms are comfortable, as are the beds. The shared bathrooms are regularly cleaned too. The staff are lovely, in particular Janet, who works during breakfast. She is very friendly and makes you feels welcome immediately. She goes out of her way to make sure you enjoying your breakfast and have everything you need.

Great facilities and a very comfortable room and beautiful view. Fully equipped kitchen with everything you need, and the town is an easy walk downhill. Also, it's very easy to take the buss from and to the airport, as it stops at Funken just up the hill.
