Calm and tasteful interior, woody scent, quiet, beautiful outdoor garden. Lovely spacious room with open bath, comfortable bed, relaxing atmosphere, fun teaware to play with. Breakfast was beautiful and plentiful. Kaiseki dinner of the inhouse restaurant was also delicious and well presented.

Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei -Age Requirement 12 over- has a fitness centre, garden, a restaurant and bar in Kyoto. This hotel was exceptional. So calm and relaxing. The breakfast was delicious especially the scrambled eggs. I was also very happy that the kitchen could cater to vegetarians. The staff were very attentive and couldn't have done more. The room was also great, nice bath and comfortable bed. Everything I needed was there. I can't wait to visit again.

Tadashi-san and Yuki-san were without question the best hosts we've had in a while. Their care and help were outstanding and the house itself was extremely clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. We felt at home for our nine nights, I will definitely be back if I have the chance!

I began my days by visiting the shrine just across the street, then followed the owner's recommended route, armed with a handy map. My room was not only spacious and flooded with natural light, but the bed boasted the comfiest mattress I've ever encountered. The bathroom and fully-equipped kitchen facilities were splendid, making it feel like a genuine home away from home in Japan. Yet, what truly set this stay apart was the genuine warmth and kindness of Tadashi and Yuki, the hosts. Their joyful welcome, attentiveness to my every need, and daily surprises with delightful treats created a memorable experience. They even arranged to dry my soaked sneakers overnight, an unexpected gesture of kindness. If you're seeking a relaxed and convenient place to stay in Kyoto, you've just discovered it. Congratulations!

Situated in Kyoto, 800 metres from Heian Shrine, Hotel Material features rooms with free WiFi access. I liked everything about the hotel. The staff representative was super helpful and nice, helped us to carry the luggage upstairs. The room was fully-equipped and clean. There is a rooftop where you can just chill out. We could leave our luggage for a couple of hours after the check out time, which we really appreciate! Absolutely the hotel to recommend.

THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA by Kyoto Tokyu Hotel has a fitness centre, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Kyoto. The 5-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom and free WiFi. I liked the location as it was a quiet area and closer to certain things I wanted to see in Kyoto. The hotel and room itself was amazing. Very comfortable, fantastic staff. Laundry and gym room were great. Would go back!

Attractively situated in the Higashiyama Ward district of Kyoto, Tassel Hotel Sanjo Shirakawa is located 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto, 1 km from Heian Shrine and 1.3 km from Gion Shijo Station.... The location is perfect, very quiet and a Station close by. Rooms a very nice and clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was really good, local products.
