Situated on the edge of Locarno, Hotel Stella SA provides panoramic views of Lake Maggiore and comes with a restaurant serving Swiss and international cuisine. 1) Perfect location 2) Amazing view 3) Welcoming and helpful staff members 4) Good breakfast 5) Free upgrade (unexpected and not asked for, so it was nice) 6) A bottle of water in the room And, I said it already, but AMAZING VIEW.

Set on a hill above Locarno, the La Barca Blu overlooks Lake Maggiore and is a 5-minute walk from the funicular to Locarno. Free WiFi is available. All rooms feature a balcony or a terrace. The staff were very helpful, especially with the bus system. The walk down from the hotel to the lake was entertaining in and of itself. The room was comfortable and breakfast was good.

It was rainy part of the time but we had plenty of room for the four of us, with a comfortable couch in the living room and a table to play cards. The view from the deck, which also had a table, was amazing. Helpful hosts downstairs. We took the bus from the train station and then figured out which steps (not a huge amount) to walk up and our host saw us and gave us the keys and a tour. Cooked a basic dinner one night in the kitchen. It was nice to have the coffee machine and pods there, as it made excellent coffees. Also a nice selection of teas.

Set in 2 traditional Ticino-style buildings, 2 km from Locarno and Lake Maggiore, Case di Sotto House & Breakfast offers free WiFi, a terrace with a panoramic view of the lake and an on-site wine... Sabrina and the rest of the team were very friendly and gave a warm welcome. The room itself was very clean and comfortable with a fantastic view of the lake and mountains and the property generally had lots of relaxation areas which we enjoyed. Breakfast was also very nicely presented and delicious. I would highly recommend Case di Sotto and would definitely stay here again.
