Hotel Lago Maggiore - Welcome! is situated on the beautiful lake promenade of Locarno, a few steps from the city centre. Hotel Lago Maggiore - Welcome! One of the best experiences I have ever had. The location was great, just next to the train station. Having a lake-view room will make your trip unforgettable. The room was quiet and the staff were very kind. Located near the center and shopping street and adjacent to the lake.

The room was nothing like j expected. It was way more comfortable and enjoyable. I loved that the place was quiet and relaxing while being close to the train station making it easy upon arrival and check out. However, it was a bit hard to find since it is kind of tucked behind the coffee shop.

Piccolo Hotel enjoys a quiet location, an 8-minute walk from the Locarno Train Station and the centre of the city. The room was lovely and the breakfast provided was superb. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

This beautiful, renovated and modern hotel is located in the town centre, close to Locarno’s old town with the famous Piazza Grande and Lake Maggiore with its lakeside promenade. Clean room , good services, nice breakfast , very good location close to everything

Set on the lakeshore promenade of Lake Maggiore, Hotel Geranio Au Lac is only 100 metres from the Locarno Train Station and the city centre. It offers a breakfast buffet. Excellent locations, directly in front of the lac, hotel provide coffee and bikes for free use, Martin was very helpful and give good advise about car parking, and about other facilities. All attractions are in walking distance from hotel. Breakfast was excellent in the balcony of the hotel, looking at the lake.

Set in a turn-of-the-century villa, Hotel Alexandra is just a 10-minute walk from Locarno’s town centre. It offers Mediterranean cuisine. Alexandra Hotel offers a rich buffet breakfast daily. Luigi was super friendly. The room was nice and we even had some lake view. we definitely recommend to stay here.

@ Home Hotel Locarno offers a central location in Locarno, 5 minutes' walk from Lake Maggiore, the Piazza Grande, and the Muralto Locarno train station. Friendliness of staff. The communication was great. The accommodations are noteworthy and comfortable.

Hotel la Palma au Lac is situated on the beautiful lake promenade of Locarno, a few steps from the city centre. All rooms provide a TV, a safe and a private bathroom. The hotel was an easy walk from the station- when you walk down the short hill to the lake side it’s worth crossing the road and walking along the lake. The gardens are gorgeous. The staff on reception, Gian and a lovely young woman whose name I didn’t get, were superb - welcoming & knowledgeable about Locarno. I was early, and Gian phoned me when my room was ready. The views were superb - it’s worth paying for a lakeside balcony room, although a tad exie. The breakfast was generous with a wide selection, even for vegetarians - a bonus was the outdoor terrace. The steam room and sauna were very well appointed. The jacuzzis had a wonderful aspect with views over the lake, although I found them overly chlorinated - certainly not a negative, but personal preference. It was a short walk to the ferries. Make sure you ask for the Ticino visitors pass - free buses & trains within the Canton & some limited ferry services and good discounts on the the funicular to the Madonna del Sasso sanctuary (you can walk up and/or down - many steep stairs - I walked down) and the adjoining cable car/chair lift to Alpe Cardada/Cimetta, both of which I recommend. Fabulous view to Monte Rosa and some good hiking. Lake swimming is accessible almost right in front of the hotel - the water clarity is wonderful and many species of water birds. The old town around the Piazza Grande was a treat as well, although it was very hot and they were setting up for a music festival.
