Tasteful, well appointed and with added little touches of comfort and consideration that were much appreciated and added to the experience - the music on the old wireless in the lobby, the complimentary fruit and wine and port in the library. Everything was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful

Interesting art deco architecture.
Interesting art deco architecture. The CBD is very walk-able. Good shops and restaurants; we highly recommend Mister D's bistro. Great central location for exploring the Hawke's Bay wine region.

Attended a concert at McLean Park, Napier is so compact it was an easy enough walk. Great eateries, restaurants and wineries. Also some nice stores although some of them were a bit pricey. So many towns and sights are close to Napier and is appropriate for children and adults of all ages. Warning, you definitely need more than just a couple of days!

Napier is a BIG little town with plenty to see and do and lots of seaside walks and inner cycle pathways to explore. Nicely laid out and good places to eat. The reason why big trucks drive through town centre is baffling as there is a bypass to the port and is noisy and ruins the vibe. The significant gang presence in Napier is concerning, they are everywhere and are rude, aggressive, intimidating and seem to revile in their pathetic existence to annoy others.

We stayed here for the Napier Art Deco festival and the location was perfect with lots of free parking which was a real bonus as the town was very busy and many streets closed for the festival. Wonderful hotel with great staff very helpful and friendly. The room on the 5th floor end of corridor was brilliant with floor to ceiling windows on 2 sides the views were fab - in fact I watched the air display from there and had a closer view than people on the ground! We did not use the restaurant but did have breakfast at the swimming pool cafe opposite which was lovely and the Masonic Hotel which was also great. The location was a few minutes walk from the centre of the town so ideal We would absolutely stay here again but you need to book early for the festival in February - we booked in June the year before!

It's unfortunate that Napier, due to still struggling from the storms last year and the harvest staff requiring lodgings, it is very difficult to get reasonable accomodation. We visited Napier several years ago and absolutely loved it.
Kitty was very welcoming and generous with her time. Breakfast was great. Good food and company, very convivial. The garden attracts native birds and we saw a Kaka and Tui. An interesting walk from the house to Bluff Hill lookout and to view Napier port activities, which we found fascinating. Then a walk to lovely Napier and a look at the beautiful Art Deco buildings. Our favourite stay and favourite town in NZ, so far, will take a lot to beat. Thank you Kitty!
A lovely art deco hotel and the best possible location in Napier. Downstairs restaurant served really nice food to us latecomers. The hotel doesn’t serve breakfast but there’s a lovely breakfast restaurant Ajuna Eatery in the next corner of Tennyson St. A stroll along the beach and breakfast there is a perfect start for a leisurely day.
It was lovely to have a door from the hotel room into the inner courtyard, sit on the sofa, sip a glass of wine and just relax.
The location was perfect for us. Very close to city centre and very easy to find. Have never stayed in such an amazing hotel before, bed was soo comfy and the room size was soo generous, even the bathroom was massive. Next time we have to travel to napier we will 100% be booking to stay here again. Even walking in to the foyer area and seeing the front desk staff was awesome great service and recommended a place for dinner :)
The house was spotlessly clean, the decor was thoughtfully curated to create an Art Deco aesthetic, and there was plenty of food for breakfast the next morning. Our host was very warm and welcoming. A very pleasant and comfortable stay with everything you could need. The bed was by far the most comfortable in our 3 weeks in New Zealand. Would definitely stay again should we be blessed to visit Napier again.
Central to what we needed, hotel was clean and nice.i read the reviews before booking g and looked at the negatives and thought if that happened to me could I deal with it. No issues with the hotel or stay.
Parking was on site. There was a restaurant but didnt use it.
Went to town for food.
We stayed one night and another night at a more expensive hotel. We won't be doing that again as Pebble beach motel was way, way better. We have already talked about when we come back next that we will first check pebble beach is available as it's worth every dollar!! Thank you so much.
Alice was a perfect host, she has made her little cottage feel like a home with all her personal touches you just don’t get in a hotel. If I ever head back to Napier, I wouldn’t look anywhere else. Everything from in the bathroom, kitchen & bedroom are of high quality. Thank you Alice.
Great location. Close to the beach and a little walk way. Not too far a drive to Marine Parade.
The kids enjoyed having a TV in the lounge.
Clean, comfy room with ample parking spaces.
Would recommend to family and friends to stay here and will be back if I come back to Napier 😄
These rooms are amazing. Huge bed, spa bath right in the bedroom, and beautiful view of the beach for awesome sunrises. We arrived later than reception was open but they were super accommodating and helped us get in. Every time we come to Napier from now on, we're staying here!
• Unique property in the heart of Napier, within easy walking distance of the Art Deco centre and coastal promenade.
• Beautifully furnished rooms, everyone is different.
• Guest laundry - yay!
• Lots of dining options close by, including some on site.
We chose The County Hotel for the Art Deco style in this Art Deco town. It was a fabulous hotel. Outstanding guest services (thank you Denise). Beautiful rooms. Sipped Port Wine in the library / sitting area. The Churchill restaurant was fabulous.
Calling this a ‘motor lodge’ hardly does it justice! We had a beautifully-appointed two-bedroom apartment, with very comfortable furnishings and a full small kitchen. It was lovely and quiet, and a short drive into the center of Napier.
With Napier being the Art Deco Capital of New Zealand, The County Hotel is in a building of that era but has modern features. The bathroom and layout were excellent as was the furniture which reflected the style of the building.
Room was nice and cold as they had put the Aircon on before we arrived. Straight accross the road from the beach and the Napier Aquarium. View was perfect. Room was clean and well equipped. Spa was lovely after all the rain.
Really clean, quiet, room was a good size and hosts were great. Helped us out with some great recommendations for restaurants. We have stayed at a few motels/hotels around Napier. This one will be our new regular!
Very basic but was clean and fresh , soaps dispenser a little difficult to use .....small bottles would have better and more hygienic , great location. Was a busy weekend in Napier so a complex a little noisey :)
I am more than happy with the Quality Inn Napier, it is in a great location on Marine Parade opposite the water. Our room was beautifully appointed, with a full kitchen & a spa bath. Parking is also provided.
This is an upmarket well appointed hotel in very central location overlooking seafront with great sea views and just 5 min walk to the Napier town centre. Very spacious room and en suite.
The appliances was so sufficient for me to cook with.
The interior has decent activity area.
Beddings are excellent, like hotel.
Warm water swimming pool.
