Interesting art deco architecture.
Interesting art deco architecture. The CBD is very walk-able. Good shops and restaurants; we highly recommend Mister D's bistro. Great central location for exploring the Hawke's Bay wine region.

Attended a concert at McLean Park, Napier is so compact it was an easy enough walk. Great eateries, restaurants and wineries. Also some nice stores although some of them were a bit pricey. So many towns and sights are close to Napier and is appropriate for children and adults of all ages. Warning, you definitely need more than just a couple of days!

Napier is a BIG little town with plenty to see and do and lots of seaside walks and inner cycle pathways to explore. Nicely laid out and good places to eat. The reason why big trucks drive through town centre is baffling as there is a bypass to the port and is noisy and ruins the vibe. The significant gang presence in Napier is concerning, they are everywhere and are rude, aggressive, intimidating and seem to revile in their pathetic existence to annoy others.

We stayed here for the Napier Art Deco festival and the location was perfect with lots of free parking which was a real bonus as the town was very busy and many streets closed for the festival. Wonderful hotel with great staff very helpful and friendly. The room on the 5th floor end of corridor was brilliant with floor to ceiling windows on 2 sides the views were fab - in fact I watched the air display from there and had a closer view than people on the ground! We did not use the restaurant but did have breakfast at the swimming pool cafe opposite which was lovely and the Masonic Hotel which was also great. The location was a few minutes walk from the centre of the town so ideal We would absolutely stay here again but you need to book early for the festival in February - we booked in June the year before!

It's unfortunate that Napier, due to still struggling from the storms last year and the harvest staff requiring lodgings, it is very difficult to get reasonable accomodation. We visited Napier several years ago and absolutely loved it.
The Quest properties were a great discovery in NZ....this was the first one we booked and we tried to find them as we continued our NZ adventure. Nice clean room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, walkable to everything in downtown Napier and access to washing machines which were super helpful on a 3-4 week trip!
Note - make sure you reserve a paid parking spot at this hotel if you have a car as parking options are limited around town. Well worth the cost!
Like most of the Maring Parade hotels, this one has been there for awhile and is ‘efficient living’ for those who want to be as close to the beach as can be. While i liked the property and especially manager Julie, one must understand that this, like every other property we saw, is a bit tired. We love the location, Julie, and it coziness.
This hotel has bags of character, it has so much going for it. It has a kind of fifties Art Deco feel which is very much in tune with Napier itself. The staff were great and there are some charming and thoughtful touches (like helping yourself to a glass of port from the library). I would definitely stay here again! It even has a lift.
Great stay in Napier with Mike & Maree! Very welcoming!
Great breakfast, conversation and laughs with M & M! Felt like family!
Mike also had great suggestions for dinner and excursions! Loved Craggy Ranch wine tasting!
Accommodations were clean with nice view and bed comfy! The bottle of wine was a nice touch and much enjoyed!
Waking up to a peaceful view over what seemed like our own vineyard was amazing. The whole house, kept to hotel standards, was perfect for a weekend away. Just far enough away from Napier City Centre but pretty much perfectly in the middle of all the vineyards we wanted to visit and the things we wanted to do. Staff were excellent.
I have stayed here before and will always choose this hotel when travelling around Napier for work. Location is great, close to everything you need. Room was great, had a desk and was able to do some work. Bed is comfy and big, which is great. I was lucky enough to get a parking every day, so I was very happy.
We loved the host whom was extraordinary friendly and polite. A fantastic experience, a truly culture conversation with the host, the location with the view over the city, the breakfast, the luxury room and bathroom made our stay one of the best in Napier region.
Well done 👍 to the host.
We stayed one night and another night at a more expensive hotel. We won't be doing that again as Pebble beach motel was way, way better. We have already talked about when we come back next that we will first check pebble beach is available as it's worth every dollar!! Thank you so much.
We loved the peddle car’s and the jumping pillow underneath the shade. The staff were all very nice and accommodating. The beds were comfortable enough and the room had adequate space. The location was wonderful too, Napier has a beautiful art deco feel which I just love.
We wanted to stay in an Art Deco Hotel and this did not disappoint. The location is brilliant - right across from the Bay, in the centre of town close to cafes, shops etc. The restaurant was good and the pub was pleasant. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.
Ocean view, which is always a plus. On Marine Parade - central to where we needed to be. We visit Napier often, so have had the experience of walking along the beachfront. The room was a bit worn, but loved our stay. The bed was exceptionally comfy.
Calling this a ‘motor lodge’ hardly does it justice! We had a beautifully-appointed two-bedroom apartment, with very comfortable furnishings and a full small kitchen. It was lovely and quiet, and a short drive into the center of Napier.
Location on the parade is great.
Walking distance to great eateries and shops.
Having a car in Napier enables easy access to a great part of New Zealand.
Te Mata Peak is a wonderful walk and the views from the top are outstanding.
The hotel host Tanya was warm welcome when we arrived. There is a beautiful view from the room we stayed. Room was spotless and everything is wonderful. We love the spa in the room. Very relaxing time in Napier.
Location is the key here and great car parking. Stayed with an overseas visitor as they wanted to see Napier. Easy walking distance to inner city. Nice to be on Marine Parade.
The beach area in front of hotel is popular and has a boardwalk. The room was large and had everything you needed. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. There
