We were walking the Cotswold Way and the Swan was right on the Route. The Room was beautiful it was very well decorated very airy. The bathroom and shower were brilliant and it was such a nice Space. The evening meal was lovely and the service was ok. There was one lady who was a bit grumpy and sharpe, but to be fair, it did look like they were a little short staffed.

Stonehouse Court Hotel - A Bespoke Hotel, hotel in Dursley

This 17th-century Manor House is in stunning grounds overlooking Stroud Water Canal and the hills of the Stroud Valley. It has an award-winning restaurant, and routes for cycling and walking.

We were walking the Cotswolds way and Stonehouse Bespoke Hotel was just off the Route. The Hotel could be accessed via the Gardens from the canal, which meant you did not need to walkalong the busy road. The staff were incredibly friendly, nothing was too much. Our room had a lovely view of the garden but was a little dated. The breakfast selection was lovely and very tasty. Our evening meal was beautifully cooked and very nice

Stinchcombe Hill (which is actually where our accommodation was) has easy access to Dursley, down a steep hill which leads directly into the town centre. Dursley itself has a good range of shops, cafes and supermarkets and is a pleasant little place in lovely surroundings. There are walks from the door of Hilltop Cottage directly onto the Cotswold Way with fab views from the Cotswold escarpment out to the Severn and beyond to Wales. We had a lovely walk at Woodchester Park (NT), walked up Cam Peak and Cam Long Down, did the circular walk around Stinchcombe Hill golf course (3 miles, beautiful views all round) from the door. Would recommend walking from North Nibley to Wotton Hill and back and also a visit to Newark Park (NT) at the head of the beautiful Ozleworth valley. We visited The Wild Place Project in Bristol with the children and my young nephew which was great. We had a brilliant cafe lunch at Woodruffs Cafe in Stroud (mainly veggie and REALLY good) and another good (more expensive) lunch at The Olive Tree in Nailsworth. The Farm Shop in Wotton is also worth a visit for fairly expensive but tasty provisions. Also worth a visit are Berkeley Castle and Slimbridge, Longleat and Bristol Zoo as well as Bath, Bristol, Gloucester (especially the cathedral) and Cheltenham.
