Best Western Gables Hotel, hotel in Dursley

Set in a rural location, just off junction 14 of the M5, the hotel is perfect for visiting Bristol and exploring the Cotswold countryside.

Room was nice - just refurbished - no fridge (would have been good) - automatic closer on door made door close loudly which could upset other guests.

Malt House, hotel in Dursley

This family-run hotel and restaurant in the heart of the Cotswold Hills is close to Berkeley Castle, the Jenner Museum, the Wet Lands Trust and Slimbridge Severn Way Boasting a warm and welcoming atm...

The location was convenient for the village. The car park was safe and spacious. The breakfast was tasty and generous but the TV was on throughout and that was very distracting.

Stinchcombe Hill (which is actually where our accommodation...

Stinchcombe Hill (which is actually where our accommodation was) has easy access to Dursley, down a steep hill which leads directly into the town centre. Dursley itself has a good range of shops, cafes and supermarkets and is a pleasant little place in lovely surroundings. There are walks from the door of Hilltop Cottage directly onto the Cotswold Way with fab views from the Cotswold escarpment out to the Severn and beyond to Wales. We had a lovely walk at Woodchester Park (NT), walked up Cam Peak and Cam Long Down, did the circular walk around Stinchcombe Hill golf course (3 miles, beautiful views all round) from the door. Would recommend walking from North Nibley to Wotton Hill and back and also a visit to Newark Park (NT) at the head of the beautiful Ozleworth valley. We visited The Wild Place Project in Bristol with the children and my young nephew which was great. We had a brilliant cafe lunch at Woodruffs Cafe in Stroud (mainly veggie and REALLY good) and another good (more expensive) lunch at The Olive Tree in Nailsworth. The Farm Shop in Wotton is also worth a visit for fairly expensive but tasty provisions. Also worth a visit are Berkeley Castle and Slimbridge, Longleat and Bristol Zoo as well as Bath, Bristol, Gloucester (especially the cathedral) and Cheltenham.
