We stayed in 3 different rooms as we had to extend our stay due to a flight cancellation, the best and newest ones are the sea view rooms as they have huge & comfy beds and lovely terraces each, the standard rooms really need to be refurbished -some smell really bad as if they had been closed for years, or have no safe or it's broken etc…

The room was clean and comfortable. Location is safe, with some options of restaurants and small grocery stores nearby although because this district is on a hill, car was the main transport. There was not too much to see in the neighbourhood.
Offering quiet street views, Plateau Bedroom & Chambre - Praia Center 1 is an accommodation set in Praia, less than 1 km from Praia de Gamboa and a 15-minute walk from Praia Negra.

All the staff was really friendly, the young lady who gave me my keys on check-in, the Guinean man who kept my bags in the basement after check-out, and the manager. I made a mistake booking more nights than I needed and I only noticed this the day before check-in. The manager was very understanding and so I only paid for the night I stayed. The room was really nice with a functioning TV, aircon and private interior bathroom. I was able to easily locate the address with google maps. The accommodation is situated near a main pedestrian street with restaurants and so the night was noisy as expected. The accommodation stored my luggage for me after check-out and organised transport to the airport for me, at a rate cheaper than what the taxi would charge. The taxi driver was very friendly!

I would have spent 3 days there maximum and spent the other 4 days in Tarrafal, instead.
In general I enjoyed my stay there, but Tarrafal it’s a different world, where you can actually feel the culture and be surrounded with beauty. Cidade abelha is also a must and it’s absolutely beautiful.
I would have loved to manage to see the typical ceramics, but people don’t talk much and don’t value much (unfortunately). I actually went to Sai Domingos on purpose to see it, but the locals said it was closed.

Praia is the capital of Cape Verde.
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde. The Santiago island is not the best if you are looking for a great beach experience. There are other islands with easy access that have superb beaches. We did a tour around the island which was interesting visiting Cidade Velha and Tarrafal as well as Sao Vicente. Tarrafal was a nice beach. The two main markets in Praia are a must see, also where you can buy some mementos.

Praia is a small "African" town, where you stroll around and enjoy the moment. There is actually nothing spectacular to see, but as a whole it is quite enjoyable. We walked thru Plato and along the beaches (Quebra Canela and Prainha). The restaurants there are really great: good food and nice view! But prices are higher than one would expect, more European.
My host, Suely, certainly made my stay very comfortable, from my very arrival into Praia to the home cooked breakfasts, her recommendations, and overall help. In a sense, it felt like staying over with friends. Her and her husband were very welcoming. Other than that, this location is extremely central, close to the main attractions in Plateau, the room has enough space to work along with a little table that helps with that, and the terrace is fun to have a few drinks.
The size and the decoration of the room. You can sit outside in the little patio to read
The location is pretty nice, in the best street in Plato. Good restaurants (you must have Cachupa in Kasa Katxupa nearby and try the D Concept downstairs)
Small fridge to keep your food/drinks cold.
They washed our clothes and folded the same day
The pickup and drop off from/to the airport was arranged for us and Carlos, the driver, is a very cool guy!
They offer a shuttle service for pick up / drop off at the airport. They also have a car rental, which I suggest getting: the beach is 15 mins walking, but under the sun is not ideal to work (for me at least), so the dar made it really easy. Also, both Ed and Elvin were extremely helpful overall. It was a good experience overall, and the small minor issues that arised were immediately resolved
The staff was so helpful and always smiling. They helped with 2AM check-in, with tours and information about public transportation. The breakfast was reasonable. The hotel is located in a new residential part of town so there are many buildings under construction. The hotel is also very close to the coast and there is a running track and calisthenics park and it's awesome around sunset time.
Breakfast was aright, overall my experience wasn't that great.
My first time there and the staff definitely didn't know what they were doing (front desk) they over charged us, they didn't have a room keys for us, the room was smalling like a cigarettes I talked to front desk about it they didn't do anything or at least try, we ended up moved to different hotel.
Very disappointed :-(
Only spent one night there and arrived late from the airport. But it was really nice. We had a big apartment upstairs all to ourselves. And the breakfast in the morning was very good too. The staff was very helpful beforehand, arranging a pickup and drop off at the airport. There are a few restaurants 5 mins away by foot and the beach isn't far either but didn't have time to test it.
We really like staying here and can recommend to everyone. Nice location, good apartment. Johny is top, he gave us so much info and had arranged the pickup and best excursions we could have done. He is very honest and friendly and has the most honest and friendly people working with him on the excursions. We really enjoyed everything, thank you and the team.
The whole staff has been extremely kind and welcoming. We were travelling with our 9 months old daughters and they have been very nice to us and to her. The hotel is equipped with high chairs and they provided a cradle for our staying.
Breakfast and meals are delicious. We recommend this option for people travelling and staying in Praia.
The beautiful atmosphere of the Pousada. It’s truly a Boutique Hotel full of charm and the staff is welcoming and always available to help. Plateau is the most charming neighborhood of Praia and the Pedonal street is vibrant during the day and peaceful at night.
Beautiful guesthouse. I had the top floor room and it was gorgeous. Very Instagrammable. Location is perfect. Short walking distance to the best restaurants and entertainment in the city, but far enough that you don’t hear any noise.
The location for a more relaxed stay in Praia.
The room was very comfortable and spacious.
Breakfast was delicious and plenty of dishes to choose from.
Swimming pool area
Staff is very friendly and helpful
Great breakfast, with variety of fruits, bread, juices and pastries. The room was very clean.
Staff were very polite and respectful.
The pool was great and, in general, the hotel had a great atmosphere.
The hotel staff was super friendly! Always ready to help or explain. Amazing cachupa for breakfast! Would recommend.
Also waking distance from nice beaches and restaurants!
The apartment itself is designed and decorated beautifully. The location of the hotel is far out the city and a bit hidden but for me that it exactly what I was looking for.
Tito is super friendly and helping. Great bed and pillows, one of the best hot showers I had in Cape Verde. If I ever come back to Praia, would definately stay here again.
A very clean and comfortable room in a charming hotel with friendly staff. An excellent breakfast served on the terrace. A 4 am airport transfer also provided.
