I would have spent 3 days there maximum and spent the other 4 days in Tarrafal, instead. In general I enjoyed my stay there, but Tarrafal it’s a different world, where you can actually feel the culture and be surrounded with beauty. Cidade abelha is also a must and it’s absolutely beautiful. I would have loved to manage to see the typical ceramics, but people don’t talk much and don’t value much (unfortunately). I actually went to Sai Domingos on purpose to see it, but the locals said it was closed.MarlenePortugal - 10Scored 10

I loved the sun, the water, the history of the people, the moutains and the rest of the land, the beaches, Tarrafel and the kindness of the people. IT was a positive surprise.
IT was a positive surprise. Cape Verde is a great place to visit. Great sea front restaurants Street Art Nights are filled with fantastic music and rich food. Some great beaches in the outskirts Of Praia. Visited Tarrafal and Assomada and Cidade Velha for its History and beach . « Portondi nos ilha « was also vert interesting place visited. At Cidade velha we stumbled at Batuku ,a restaurant where we had the Best grilled garopa ever. Great funNeto - 8.0Scored 8.0

Praia is the capital of Cape Verde. The Santiago island is not the best if you are looking for a great beach experience. There are other islands with easy access that have superb beaches. We did a tour around the island which was interesting visiting Cidade Velha and Tarrafal as well as Sao Vicente. Tarrafal was a nice beach. The two main markets in Praia are a must see, also where you can buy some mementos.

Nice atmosphere, somewhat between Africa & Brasil. Santiago is not a place for beach holidays, but interesting for people, culture, food... Great nature & beaches in driving distance, car needed.

Praia is a small "African" town, where you stroll around and enjoy the moment. There is actually nothing spectacular to see, but as a whole it is quite enjoyable. We walked thru Plato and along the beaches (Quebra Canela and Prainha). The restaurants there are really great: good food and nice view! But prices are higher than one would expect, more European.

I felt save walking alone at night My host, Antonio was awesome, he made sure I felt save and comfortable. He was more than a host, a great individual and amazing guy. He was able to give me a tour of Santiago, and I highly recommend him to any tourist wishing to explore Praia and its environs. We visited beautiful beaches, National Park, and historic locations during our tour. The winding road and the hilly terrain added much value to the tour.

Right in the historic center. The host was really responsive and the house is really comfortable, the room stays cool during the hot humid days, a real bargain for the price considering the beauty of the house and the details of the rooms. Cute little kitchen for shared use as well as a nice little walled patio out back. A great find in Praia! I changed hotels from the hotel Santa Maria and was so much better here.Melinda ElaineSpain

Walking distance to the best beach in Praia and some local shops. Best thing about our stay was the Picoteo Tapas Bar that is located on the ground floor basically at the same building - we spent all evenings there! Best staff, best tapas, best cocktails in Praia, an absolute mus visit.

They helped with 2AM check-in, with tours and information about public transportation. The breakfast was reasonable. The hotel is located in a new residential part of town so there are many buildings under construction. The hotel is also very close to the coast and there is a running track and calisthenics park and it's awesome around sunset time.
