The Sol Mar guest house is a good solution for a short stay in Odeceixe, a village with no proper hotels where accommodation is largely provided by guest houses. The rooms are small and basic, but you'll find everything you need to make the most of your stay, including reliable Internet connectivity and plenty of electrical plugs to charge mobile phones and other devices. The bathroom is small, but has all the essentials. Cleanliness is spotless. The lady owner is very friendly and helpful and will give you all the local information you might need. Breakfast is basic but of good quality..

She made a lovely breakfast with homemade foods and she even made us a to-go pack when we couldn’t finish our cake. Plus it was the only place we stayed with Tea and kettle in the room 😃

The beach of Odeceixe sits a few km from Odeceixe, on the beach itself the variety and possibilities are limited, only a couple of restaurants, no real cafés, no shop to buy newspaper or any market available. Main beach lovely, Praia de Adega not very accesible, great views around but village somewhat rundown and totally dead at this time of year. Nowhere to go to eat except pastelaria for lunch time snack. Moving around Odeceixe is not easy. If I were to go again it woud definitely not be at Christmas/New Year.BrianPortugal - 10Scored 10
We went mid January.
We went mid January. Most places were closed but we could see that at another time there would be a lot more choice of places to eat or stay. Odeciexe has beautiful beach, lots of back-packers seem to gravitate there. Avoid Casa Dorita accommodation at all costs, I can honestly say that when I was a young man I have stayed in far superior YMCA's It reminds me of one of this flop houses you see in the movies.PhilipPortugal - 10Scored 10

Overnight motorhome/campervan parking now illegal in Portugal so angry about this. You can only park in authorised campsites. Otherwise I love Odeceixe - back to nature, village has good restaurants and bars. If no transport it takes around 30 to 40 minutes to walk to beaches where there are cafes and shops. Rota Vibcentina cliff top walk on other side of estuary has stunning views across the Atlantic and is the only place in Europe where storks nest on coastal cliffs.CherryPortugal

You can walk to the cliffs with great views overlooking the ocean and beaches. It is surrounded by cultivated farm land and forest with pine trees. The owner, Victor, is very helpful, kind and a creative cook. He serves a nice breakfast which you can eat on an outdoor patio. I loved his dog, cat, chickens and geese on the property. The bed was very comfy and the living space was ideal. The kitchen was pretty well equipped, just needed a few more things to cook with if you were staying longer. It's located right in Odeceixe but in a quiet area. Apart from the parties at the Clube, there was very little noise. The room and building were amazing. the best sleep of my life. breakfast was also great and all the staff was super friendly.
