It is a very peaceful place with an authentic atmosphere and is only a five-minute walk away from the beach and other facilities such as restaurants and small supermarkets. As soon as we can, we will definitely be returning to Elea Suites & Residences.

You ale have a parking place for car.

Minas and his wife were great and friendly hosts. If we had any questions or requests they could help us. The location is also in my opinion pretty good if you don't want to stay directly in Heraklion but still near its perimeter. You also don't have to go too far if you are looking for a beach (or stay home and jump in the pool). If you don't want to rent a car, the bus stops are 10 to 15 minutes south of Gouves Sunset Apartments (2,20 Euro each person from bus stop 11-13 to Heraklion). The rooms are large enough, have one AC in the sleeping room and the kitchen has enough tools for cooking a decent meal if you don't want to eat at a restaurant from time to time (we bought/brought our own spices). My advice if you want to take a shower: don't use the full power or almost the whole bathroom is going to be wet ;) The terrace and its garden were also good if you want to spend some calm/remote time e.g. in the morning/evening outside. From time to time a cute cat (or rather 2) visitted us. Directly east to the apartment is a tourist guide office with lots of interessting options (we took the Lassithi Pleateau one because we visitted Knossos ourselves) if you want to have more than just some sun bathing/beach vacation. Heraklion itself also has lots of museums if you are into some historical facts (from archaeological to natural museums). Since we were interessted in cretan olive oil and honey, he also gave us some as parting gift. Thanks again for the super hospitality and we hopefully can come back soon again for our next summer vacation.
