Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyThe room could be decorated with a little bit more love. Also the breakfast situation was a bit confusing. I think the owner offer breakfast at the adjacent hotel, but since we never signed up for breakfast, there was nobody there when we got there. Instead, we came across a restaurant where this co-working group was offering a small breakfast buffet. The same co-working group had also rented the hotel as a co-working space. Of course this doesn't have anything to do with our stay, it just stroke us as weird to come across so many people staring at their laptops in a mountain village on Crete :-)
The accommodation completely fulfills its purpose. We especially appreciated the flexible check-in and the owner's kindness!

AustraliaBasic room. Not many places to put things. Maybe some shelves somewhere? I’m not a fan of hand held showers but it was quickly hot.
Nice room with balcony overlooking village and mountains. Air con was effective and bedding good for the cooler temps of winter. The owner met us on-site with the key. She was very friendly and had excellent English. Good wifi. A couple of flights of stairs to the room but worth it for the view. It was nice to be able to boil the jug for a cup of tea or coffee and to hang out gear on the coat hook.

United KingdomNothing. (The beds are pretty firm but you'll be getting used to that in Crete!)
The warmth of the welcome, the character of the bedroom, the balcony, the hot water, the location, the associated taverna and the outstanding breakfast of interesting, homemade local foods. Everything has a personal touch here. And Zaros is a delightful, peaceful, authentic little town in a magnificent setting.

GreeceIt was a wonderful room, exactly what I saw on the photos, in the heart of the village. Very clean, renovated and really warm with brand new bathroom and air-condition. Usually in Crete, hotels of this price category are not comfortable in winter time (warm but not hot water, poor heating). This one was a bright exception. Ideal for a winter holiday on the mountains. Simple, comfortable and tasteful with amazing wooden floor and ceiling. The staff was very helpful and nice. We really enjoyed our stay.

LatviaThe wifi was provided but it was very slow (<1 Mbit/s). No curtain in the shower, the bathroom floor almost gets flooded.
Super friendly owner, easy to communicate with. Although we did not order any breakfast the owner brought us freshly baked traditional pie in the morning. Everything was clean and shiny. Parking space next to the apartment. Fridge, electric kettle and coffee was provided in the room. Good location in the middle of the town. Good value for money.

GermanyI loved everything about this place and cannot recommend it highly enough! The room was lovely: spotlessly clean, tastefully designed and had everything I needed. It even came with a delightful and very generous gift of local products. But best of all was the incredibly charming, friendly and kind owner (who speaks really good English) and the AMAZING breakfast buffet she provides. Just make sure you don't have a big dinner the night before so you are really hungry! For an extremely reasonable price you get a huge selection of homemade and freshly baked things to choose from, including many traditional local delicacies that I had never tried before. Just delicious! You can also book a day at their family farm - I think she called it a 'farm experience' - which sounded really interesting and fun. Unfortunately, I had to leave the next day, but I would return to Zoras and to that guesthouse just to do the 'farm experience' - as well as for the unforgettable breakfast, of course. The location is great for walking the Rouvas gorge and the surrounding mountains (soooo beautiful), and there are several other things to do and see in the area (make sure you eat at the trout farms). Zoras itself is lovely, too, especially if you want to get away from the mass tourism and commercialism of the coast.

PolandVery nice and welcoming owners! Big and comfortable room, beautiful area, and amazing food. Breakfast is only 6 euro per person and it's made from fresh, local products. Near is a restaurant owned by the same family, where you can eat delicious, homemade dinner ( set menu ) and enjoy the atmosphere. Owners can recommend nice places to see in the area. It's definitely worth staying here, I'll come back one day for sure!
