Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaBathroom could have been cleaner. Shower head spray was very harsh, no adjustment to spray. Soap dish falling off the wall. Strong smell of wood fire in room. No air conditioner, requested a fan which arrived promptly.
Beautiful location, quiet. Friendly host. Breakfast was good.

IsraelThe rooms were not exactly fit to a family as our son stayed with us in the same room on an extra, not so comfortable, bad.
The place is very nice and unique. It is very quiet and peaceful, and the landscape and view, especially from the restaurant balcony, is amazing. The place was clean, and the owners were friendly and helpful. We loved that it's not in the middle of a big city but close to the main sites in the area.

GreeceApart from the fact that the small pool could have been cleaner, there is nothing in particular that I would change.
We had a very nice stay at this charming hotel. The owners were not only kind but went above and beyond to assist us with anything we needed during our time there. The facilities were clean, reflecting a high level of care and attention to detail. Our room was tastefully decorated and thoughtfully appointed, creating a cozy ambiance. The family restaurant offering a splendid panorama of the overall area is conveniently located next to the hotel (operated by the same owners). All in all, it's a place where warmth, cleanliness, aesthetics, and convenience come together to create an enjoyable stay. PS: The parking space is located 1 min away from the room.

SwitzerlandWe found everything to be really good.
The accomodation is a magnificent historical villa located in a dreamy landscape, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards. It is perfect if you want to explore the hills of Crete, but it is also a short drive from the closest beaches. The rooms are spacious, clean, and furnished with antique and stylish pieces. They are also equipped equipped with fridge and washing machine. The Villa has a very beautiful patio and pool with garden, where you can have the incredibly good homemade breakfast the host, Aphroditis, will make for you and make you feel just like at home. Overall our stay was incredibly enjoyable, filled with the sound of cicadas during the day and of crickets at night. It was very easy to relax in this marvellous landscape, also thanks to the good food that Aphroditis makes in the Taverna just in front, which has a stunning terrace with a view on the hills. We really recommend this Villa.

United KingdomAfroditi is lovely hostess. We arrived late in the evening, but she still gave us a lovely welcome and was willing to open her Taverna to cook us a nice meal. She made a sacrifice for herself to accommodate a last minute change in the reservation, too. My large accommodation in this renovated circa 1700 large stone inn was perfect with period decorated furnishings, a washer, coffee maker, small fridge and even a wood fireplace walking in through a patio surrounded by flowers and vines. Afroditi's breakfast was delicious with yogurt, fresh pomegranates, eggs, orange juice and a freshly baked homemade pastry item filled with cheese (Greek name escapes me). Her homemade jam and olives were tasty, too. The pool is sparkling clean although it was a little cold for swimming mid October. There was plenty of parking with a beautiful garden to walk through beside it. It was so nice we stayed another night and ate supper the second night at the Taverna Afroditi and her husband own and run. It has great food and the most beautiful view of the vineyard and olive farmed valleys and mountains I saw in Crete. We drank red wine created right on the premises. As a special bonus Afroditi is also an artist and makes jewellery and other items to take home... I bought a lovely ring, bracelet, wedding shawl and crocheted wallet.

United KingdomNothing to complain about.
This is our second stay at Villa Daskalogianni. It is a short and easy drive from Heraklion airport. Despite arriving at Villa Daskalogianni 3 hours later than planned because our plane had been diverted, Aphrodite was there to greet us, show us to a comfortable room before welcoming us to her taverna just 10m away. Much of taverna’s excellent food and wine is produced locally and we enjoyed eating there both nights of our stay. Aphrodite and her family are friendly and excellent hosts and will look after you well.

Such a dreamy, cool old house. Close to lots of wineries. Absolutely loved the views. The hospitality was wonderful. Definitely eat and watch the sunset at the taverna, one of the best meals we’ve had in Greece!

United KingdomFantastic breakfasts provided by our host and suppers at her taverna opposite. All home cooked food and most of it home-grown - a real Cretan experience, just what we were hoping for! Great location, lovely views across the valley and plenty of breeze so the heat was bearable even in August

IsraelThe room is old and dark - only one window , not a good vintage old but an old old ... you can hear your neighbors from behind the wall as if they are right next to you, every word When someone walks on the second floor we hear every step due to a wooden floor

IsraelBeing a historical property, it is less friendly for little children and with very little acoustic isolation. Facilities in the property were few and there were not many options for restaurants in the area.
The villa is positioned in a beautiful area of Crete, and the property itself is historic and romantic. The hosts were very welcoming and their tavern had fresh, traditional, tasty cooked food. While located in the mountains, the location is very close to the highway and it is very quick to get to the northern beaches.
