Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsAt Mme Bassia's, you will stay in a charming place, an old house with several accommodations and several balconies. Below the rooms is a charming shop (lots of eco-health stuff) run by the host and his staff. The host is very welcoming, open and full of good tips and advice. A pleasure to meet him and his staff. The street is very lively till about 10 o'clock in the evening and then turns quiet, ensuring a good night's sleep. The location is right in the middle of the historic part of Chania, in the pedestrian area. Very convenient for strolling around. A leisurely 15-minute walk past the old harbour will get you to a pleasant sandy beach with good swimming water; umbrellas with chairs can be easily rented, and service is fine. The old town offers a very lively, relaxed environment with a copious choice of nice wine and cocktail bars, coffee bars and good and affordable restaurants. The harbour can be an enchanting place around sunset. For trips, you can book with an agency or just simply take the bus. The bus station is a 10-minute walk from the location; everything is very well explained.

United KingdomVery small shower space
The room was centrally located just in the middle of the old town - very easy to get everywhere and convienient if you want to go out. There is no reception - you pick up the keys in the shop downstairs, which I imagine might be problematic if you need to contact someone at night etc. The staff were absolutely lovely though, very friendly and helpful. We had the spacious room in the attic - lots and lots of space, the bed was huge and comfortable, there was a desk and a mirror and everything you need in the room. Very small balcony but with a gret view. The ony downside was the shower - they did the best they could with the space they have but the shower space is so tiny that it's barely possible to wash. Great kitchen downstairs, equipped with everything you might need - crockery, cutlety, tea, coffee, a kettle. We really enjoyed our stay and it was great value for money especially considering the central location. Also, you get a dicount in the souvenir shop downstairs if you stay with them. We would stay there again.

United KingdomThe room is in the centre of town above some very busy shops. There is also a bar close by. So expect some noise until around 21h00, and a bit later from the bar, which closed at about 23.00 while we were there. There is also a church close by, which seemed to ring its bells at approximately 7.00, 7.30 and 7.45, also at 18.00, or thereabouts. But these noises were not particularly intrusive and only added to the character of the place and were not a problem
A large room with a small balcony in the centre of the old town. Above a shop owned by the same family, about 150 m from the harbour. Dozens of restaurants, taverne and cafes within a few minutes walk. One review posted recently downgraded the property as providing a poor breakfast. This is confusing and incorrect as they do not offer breakfast (there is a small kitchenette where you can prepare your own food). There are many places to get an excellent breakfast with a few meters to the property

IrelandArrived to be asked to speak with owner on phone. He tried to tell me my booking was only for two people, when in fact I had made a booking for a family room for five people. Nothing something you want to be told after a stressful journey with 3 young kids! Family room was eventually made available after a wait. Was awoken at 7.30am by nearby church bells ringing. Not the owner's fault, but something people thinking of booking should be aware of.
Central location with air conditioning. Wifi and baggage storage.

United Kingdomtiny showering space with the curtain, seems to be no shampoo? not a big deal though.
right in the town centre, very convenient from and to the bus station. the room we stayed was on top of the property all by ourselves. the owner seemed to be quite nice but we didn’t have time for a proper conversation. there was free tea and coffee. the AC works well. surprisingly it wasn’t noisy during the night :) really like the balcony, though didn’t have time to enjoy it.

NorwayThe "kitchen" is not much more than a sink, a coffee machine and a water boiler (cups, plates, spoons and knives - no forks). Tight staircase might not be optimal for everyone. Not too many storage possibilities in the room. Sharp edges in the shower. But all in all - great!
Easy check-in, easy check-out. A sweet little big room in the heart of Chania. Made our stay in Chania effortless and smooth! The room had an AC, a fridge, a WC, a shower and even a balcony in a rather quiet alley. The possibility to leave luggage after staying here was a game changer.

ItalyThe room was very old and uncomfortable. The biggest problem was that in the bathroom there was no proper shower but just a shower faucet. Being old and small this meant flooding the entire bathroom after every shower. For one night stay it could be fine, but no longer as in our case.
Position and cleaning. It was spacious and with a balcony in the city center.
