We found the creaky bed to have uncomfortable angles. Disappointed not be given more milk on subsequent days, even though requested, as nearest shop is in Zakros.

The kitchen and kitchenwhare were very basic.If, like me, you like to cook your meals it is a bit of a let down, otherwise it is great for the occasional meal

A charming and spacious apt with sea view, clearly a thought was given to every little detail. The balcony was great for relaxing in full view of the sea and a thanks to the unfailing breeze it was very nice even on hot summer days. Very quiet, every apt has its own space and the whole place is well mai tained and beautiful. A great place for relaxation and the beach was not crowded at all. Being on the ver eastern end of Crete it takes time to get there, but to me it was well worth the trip

The apartments and gardens were magical, a work of art. A beautiful and tranquil place to stay. We loved our room and terrace looking over the hills and sea. The hosts had put a lot of thought into every detail. Their hospitality was exceptional, sharing information and recommendations, and providing a lovely welcome pack: Thalia's homemade biscuits were divine. Thank you so much for the lift to the top of the gorge to collect our car. We chilled out and relaxed - perfect 😊

This is the most amazing place! I am almost tempted to give a bad review in order to keep it to myself for the future... It is just the perfect escape. Located on a hill with a view of the bay. The apartments (or is it tiny villas?) are built on a steep slope with a charming garden. They have spacious balconies with comfortable tables and chairs (ours even had a sun lounger) so you can sit with your coffee and enjoy the view. Inside they are beautifully designed, very comfortable and thoughtfully designed (think small things that make your life easier such as sufficient electrical sockets in convenient places). Lovely landlady who spoils her guests with things like homemade cookies. Very highly recommended!

Owners are always there to help and facilitate all you needs. Genuine hosts, with professionalism and love for what they do. They welcomed us with homemade cake, had everyday cleaning, juices in the fridge,coffee, milk and many more. Our kids loved the surrounding and we want to wish them all the best to what they do!

Our hosts went out of their way to make sure we got into our rooms easily even though we had been delayed.The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen spotless.The views from our patio were beautiful. Tallia had equipped the kitchen with all the basics we needed - coffee,milk,butter, jam oil, cold water etc.but in addition she had left us a plate of delicious home baked cakes and during our stay she brought us fresh bread and another cake.She couldn’t have been kinder.I highly recommend Katerina Apartments for a delightful stay in Kato Zakros.

Manolis and Thalia were excellent hosts. The location was very peaceful, waking up to the birds singing. Nice seaview. The hosts, provided us with homemade wine, raki, cake and other snacks. It was nice a community washing machine was available. They serviced the room everyday. Kato Zakros is a good central location for Vai Beach to the north and Xerocampos to the south. Also Kato Zakros has a very nice beach with several tavernas on the beach. Wonderful stay.

Excellent views on the secluded bay of Kato Zakros. In close proximity to the beach, a few nice restaurants on the beach and the entrance / exit of the Dead Gorge. Wonderful hosts who have decorated the apartments and surrounding area with an exceptional eye for details. Unique setting that has great vibes to it. Hosts were so welcoming with welcome gifts consisting of wine, beer, water, raki, coffee, toast, self baked cookies and cake etc.

Splendid view over the bay from the nice terrasse. Fine garden.. Nice walk from the appartments along the nearby ruins of the famous Minoan palace. At the beach good restaurants with nice food.

We had a lovely welcome from Dimitris, who had waited patiently for us because the drive took us longer than expected. We rented two studios because there was 7 of us and they had put in extra beds. Very nice accommodation, amazing surroundings and views. Katerina even baked us a lovely chocolate cake, which the kids very happy about. Dimitris recommended the Taverna Glivos/ Seagull on the beach when we asked for tips and it was some of the best Cretan food we have eaten! We would like to return another time to stay longer. Kato Zakros takes a bit of a journey to get to, but it is absolutely worth it and we are very glad we came.

We have really enjoyed our 4 nights stay at Katerinas Apartments. The complex is made with love and you can see it in every corner. The rooms are clean and all of them have breathtaking see views. If you can make it to wake up early, the sunrise will remain unforgettable. The complex is located on a hill, so you’ll have to walk uphill a bit, but, it is not difficult. The hostess, Mrs Thalia will make everything to make your stay pleasant. Upon arrival you will find a rich welcome basket in your room, including raki. Upon check out we got our little gift and I’m sure you will get one as well. Kato Zakros have some idyllic beaches, located at the far left of the bay. The food at the tavernas are decent. If you have a car, find time to drive all the way up to Vai, stopping at the beaches on the way, including Hiona and Maridati (a hidden gem). Kato Zakros has also one remarkable archeological site- you will love it. We are looking forward to visit Kato Zakros and Katerina Apartments again!!!!

The bed was on the soft side.

Small private terrace with a a view over the bay at Kato Zarkos. Excellent place to stay if you care to climb the Zarkos Gorge in the early morning when it is still cool and when many tourists are still in bed or at the breakfast table. Kato Zakros has several restaurants with cozy terraces longing the beach.

Cozy and well-furnished apartment with an amazing view over Zakros Bay. it is a very relaxing and quite place, totally recommended!
