For my partner and I IlIos village was the perfect Cretan location. The complex of 4 villas is built on a hillside with stunning views of the valley, the sea and the mountains. The location is quiet and relaxing but it’s only a 10 minute drive from the beaches bars and restaurants of Agia Marina. The villa we stayed in was exceptionally good. It was clean and well equipped with wonderful terraces, gardens and a terrific pool. The pictures don’t do it justice. There was cleaning service and pool service twice a week. I can’t really recommend IlIos village enough. Superb. But that’s not all. Upon arrival you’ll meet Dimitris. He is your host and manages the village. Whatever your expectations of your stay at IlIos village Dimitris will exceed them. He’s incredibly friendly and incredibly helpful. Also he’s a mine of useful information that will only enhance your holiday. Want a restaurant recommendation? Ask Dimitris. Want a beach recommendation? Ask Dimitris. Weather a bit off and you want a recommendation on how to spend your day? Ask Dimitris. Seriously this man will go out of his way to improve your stay at IlIos village in any way he can. He’s a Cretan legend. Another review of IlIos village mentioned that they arrived as guests and left as friends. I can really only echo that sentiment. Thank you Dimitris for making our stay at IlIos village just an excellent experience Highly recommended

If i had to moan, i could only find two issues The cooker oven had no clear numbers on the controls,so you had to guess. and fridge didn't shut tight,

The house and view is amazing, beds comfortable, we were welcomed straight away by Dimi lovely guy who was very nice. Will definitely book to stay again.

The drive up is a bit challenging for the last few hundred meters, but in the end worth it given what expects us at the destination, I guess one can't have everything.

Dimitris was a perfect host, introducing us to the amenities and providing lots of recommendations for places to visit, to shop at, etc. The villa is a little paradise, with its private pool and superb views of the sea and of the mountains. We really liked the Leventis restaurant nearby, which was also Dimitris's recommendation.

We spent a lovely holiday at Ilios village. The villas are beautifully located, very clean and well-equipped. Also, Dimitris is an amazing host - super kind and helpful. It’s worth renting a car, local beaches are just few minutes drive away and Stalos is a good starting point for longer trips to visit Crete’s west and south coast. Highly recommend!

Fantastic villa with beautiful views over the olive groves and to the sea. The villa was spotless with everything you need. Five minute drive from the town which had a lovely beach. Great choice of local restaurants. Very friendly staff at the villa and in particular Dimitris who went out of his way to make our holiday so enjoyable. Thank you Dimitris. Can’t wait to return!

Walking back up the hill was a bit of a chore!

Great location with views of snow capped mountains to the right and the Aegean Sea to the left. The drive up is interesting the first time but we quickly got used to it. Dimitris really looked after us!

We stayed end of March and was a bit cold, not all the air cons worked on heating.

The villa is awesome and has one of the best views we ever seen. It's on top of the hill and you can see the mountains and the sea.

Dimitri met us having given him a rough time frame of our arrival by car. He was excellent dealing with our every request. He had fruit and a bottle of wine, raki as gifts upon our arrival. The villa was well equipped for at least our first morning and he gave us great recommendations for eating close by. Driving to these villas is not for the faint of heart but we had two brave drivers in our group. Cleanliness, beds comfortable and outside pool and views were all appreciated.

Wifi could have been better, mattress protectors didn’t stay on the bed very well, making the bottom sheet come loose all the time.

A brilliant 2 weeks, fantastic views, great pool, well equipped villa and the manager, Dimitris, along with Sofia made us feel very welcome. Wifi was adequate, however not great in the living room/kitchen. Good enough to stream though. A car is essential

The pictures do not do it justice, amazing place, looked after by Dimitris and always on hand to answer questions, sent us to the best beaches. Myself and my 2 children had the best holiday and didn't want to leave.

The villa is extremely clean and the staff really couldn't be more helpful. Dimitrius was so friendly and always on hand for help, advice or to give us some of the fresh fruit that grows in the grounds, he really is a top host. 5 minute drive from villa to the main street, so location is really excellent to enjoy Stalos, Agia Marina and Platanias

That we didn't have more time to stay here! So much to do and so little time!

The host Dimitri made us feel like family. We ran into a little trouble with a parking ticket and he went above and beyond to help us remedy our situation. We arrived as guests and departed as friends. The villa was amazing with everything you could possibly need. Kitchen was well equipped, the view stunning, the pool and BBQ area exceeded our expectations! When we arrived we were greeted with a little house warming gift and recommendations of how to spend our time in the area. I's give this place the highest recommendation and would come back again - but for a longer stay.
