We loved the breathtaking view on the Lassithi Plateau from the balcony of our bedroom or the restaurant on top. The lodging is brand new (only 2 years of use) and much bigger than what it appears on the pictures. Everything is perfectly clean and well thought of. Plus, it is equipped with a washing machine and a dryer; it is pratical to stay there to wash laundry before continuing with your journey. Emmanuella, the owner of the place and restaurant, is a perfect cook and host; we ate very well! Do not skip out on her meals, they are worth it. She is very warm and welcoming person. We loved the entire family working with Emmanuella. They speak excellent English; making it very easy to communicate. We regret not having spent more time there. If you like to hike in the mountains; this is a perfect place to stay for 3 to 4 days. It can be nice to cool off a little bit in the mountains from the coast temperatures and be away from the crowd. That place will fit these needs. Also, it is only an hour away from Spinaloga and other beaches; it is easy to spend part of the day on the coast and be back for the evening.

That we didn’t have more time there .

This family run hotel and restaurant is over looking a gorgeous plateau, and a quick walk to the cave of Zeus. The apartment like suite was not only spotless and beautiful but had everything you could want with sm kitchen, fireplace, lots of space, balcony and a view die for, even a washer !…Oh and we didn’t even mention the incredible homemade food from the attached restaurant! fresh squeezed pomegranate juice and the best food you’ll have in Crete! Then to add the best for last -the wife , husband and son not only treated us with the best food and stay but generously helped us fix something that came loose on our car by first climbing under to look at it and then sending us to their friend in town , who was then waiting for us . (Cost 2 Euro ) The wife gave us her a greatest gift of hospitality, generousity and kindness even a gift of local plant tea . ALL THIS IN ONE OVER NIGHT STAY ! We can’t say enough praise about our stay in the suite or about the family .We only wish we would have know about this place when we were making our vacation plans, but it was a whim that we choose going the the cave and staying there as a side trip IT WAS THE BEST PART OF OUR TRIP TO CRETE!

This stay was a perfect 10 for us! Our hosts were wonderful and generous people, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was amazing - top quality fittings throughout and so spacious with an amazing view. The evening meal was delicious and plentiful, homemade with so much love. The bed was divine... I wished I could take it home with me!

We had a fantastic view over the lasithi plateau, rooms were very clean, modern and spatious. The owners are such sweet people, we truly felt welcome and had such nice chats. The same owners also run the adjacent taverna with good food, a great view and splendid breakfast in the morning. We didn’t have a car and as there is no supermarket in the village, the owner provided us with a packed lunch to take on our hike in the mountains. A lot of people visit the nearby Dikti cave, but when the cave closes in the afternoon, the village becomes quiet and these apartments are a true gem in the mountains.

We loved this place! The owners are super friendly and helpful. They kept the restaurant open at dinner just for us! It is the perfect place to spend the night if you want to visit the Cave of Diktaion Andron early in the morning when there's no people around.

Very nice hosts which invited me to coffee and cake in their tavern (with a great view) and even had a little present for me. The studio ist modern and very nice. Internet was good, the view great, showers very well. The location is actually a big advantage which I didnt see before: The Zeus cave is very empty before 10am. Then many tourists start to pour in. So it is very easy to just check out and walk 10min into the cave and have it for yourself.

We arrived after the sun had set and it was dark. There could be a sign with a light that would read where the actual check-in location is as we got a little lost in the parking lot. A lot of tourists visit the area during day time to see the caves and the mountains. But othertimes it is quiet.

The location and the room were much better than we were expecting. The bathroom was clean and big, well planned. The whole apartment was clean and smartly planned. The apartment did not have an AC but as it was high in the mountains the room did not even need it, it was even cold in the very early morning. The room had a great view of the valley and mountains. Well-equipped room with modern equipment (laundry and dryer machine, oven, fridge, and a lot of kitchen utensils). The fireplace was a pleasant surprise even though we did not have the time to use it. Great place to take your family for a holiday.

Our stay at diktamus was perfect. The studio was absolutely stunning, it was so comfy we hardly woke up early. It is well furnished and if you need anything, the owners are available to help you for everything ; They’re such sweethearts. We really liked the cozy vibes of this establishment. When we arrived later than planned as we got lost, Manoela and her husband left the keys for us and even came back when we crossed by on the road. they accommodated us so much, and for this, thank you, really! Everything was perfect, we ate at their family taverna and it was one of the best meals we had in Crete. Thank you again for the tea and the strawberries, they were delicious! Everything was great!

A huge flat equiped with everything you need, very modern style. We could even use a wash&dry machine, very convenient after so many days of vacation. Great view from the balcony, lots of silence, very good sleeping!

Great welcome and service throughput our short stay. Restaurant was closed in the evening but a superb 'tray' was put together to take to our room. Very convenient for an early or late walk up to the Dhiktean cave.

Every room in this great apartment has an Unbelievable view on the valley and the mountains. Heartwarming hosts! The closest place to the Zeus cave and GREEK MYTHOLOGY thematic park. Delicious food including homemade ice cream!

It was very cold when we visited and it took a while for the room to be warm enough. We lit a fire with the wood we bought from them, but we had challenges getting it to stay a light and not smoke out the room. We got it going in the end, but room we very smoky and we had to have the balcony door partly open to manage airflow.

There was nothing that I didn’t like.

Amazing view of the plateau and surrounding mountains! Very clean, well-equipped and luxurious studio apartment units with balconies, aptly named Dictamus Homes. It felt like home to me. The Dictamus Taverna serves delicious food and the best fresh fruit juices. It is right at the base of the trail going up to the Psychro Cave also known as Diktaian Antron (Cave of Zeus). It’s a family-run business and the couple and their two children are very warm, kind and genuinely hospitable. Emmanuela and her husband H have been such gracious hosts and even spent private time with me, inviting me to share uozo and desserts with them. Absolutely lovely people. I will most definitely be back and stay there again.

The hosts are INCREDIBLE. Manoela ist the owner and the powerhouse that runs the place. She will be around all the time and you don't need more than a look to have her attention. She is very kind and ready to help. We really feel at home here. The apartments are big, well furnished and clean(even with a wash mashine). The food is amazing, try her Greek cheese pie with honey, they are delicious. The place is beautiful with a great view of the mountain and the plateau, and it is a 10 minutes walk from the Cave of Zeus entrance.
