Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing!
Beautiful charming house with lovely outside space - terraces on both sides so easy to avoid the sun. Great facilities in bathroom and kitchen. Extremely comfortable bed - downstairs, very quiet and dark. Excellent sleeping! In a charming and picturesque village - typical Cretan tumbling down the hillside - with some lovely tavernas. Incredibly local in the evenings (albeit fairly touristy in the day with day trippers). Very close to Agios Nikolaus. Great communication with owner who allowed a very late checkout for no extra cost.

Hungaryactually we spent almost an hour waiting for the host to solve the wrong booking date and the key issues. but the host solved it generously. thanks!
very nice house, sitting on the terrace at night (and in the morning) in full silence is a gift. the pedestrian street is amazing. Eva from one of shops (helping with the key issue) is also amazing. do not forget to visit the kritsa gorge.

NetherlandsArriving in the village, we had to ask for the exact location, and the locals didn't know. A small sign would have been fine.
The great house is located in the northern part of Kritsa, and has a magnificent view from the balcony. It is located on 10 minutes walking distance from the heart of the village, so no car needed to go there. Take the road that leads to the church. Have lunch or dinner at a taverna called Agadiko.

At first we were sceptical about all the five stars reviews on Google Maps. But our stay was actually five stars. The host is really nice and attentive. We were greeted with a bottle of cooled Greek wine and a bowl of fruits! It was also convenient that we could park our car next to the house, but you do need to be a good driver with narrow and steep Cretan roads. As we love hiking we explored different routes, and also visited Lato nearby, an archeological site even more impressive than Knossos. We spent our evenings in taverna in Kritsa, the food is so good and affordable. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and family.

BelgiumI was happy with everything
Peaceful and quiet, while still close to the centre of Kritsa. The view from the terrace was absolutely stunning. It was our perfect base for exploring the gorge and the mountains.

GreeceThe room was in a place that car could not easily reach (200m walking from your car). Plus and worse, the room was not ready/cleaned, so we had to wait for an hour (20.00 pm) to get in. Also there was not even a toilet paper or kitchen paper available in the room. We did complain to the owner, but received no apologies or response.

GreeceOnly suggestion would be to add an air conditioning unit in the upper floor as well, if there’s not any architectural or other limitation . Not a major issue but it would be a convenience.
The view was stunning and there was plenty of outdoors space to enjoy the tranquility. Indoors was also beautiful and fully functional. Just a 10 minutes drive from wonderful beaches. Kritsa village is amazing.
