Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe buffet dinner is not great quality. The exception was “Cretan Night” which was better but also much more expensive. The rest of the food options throughout the resort are expensive, from the ice cream shop to the pizza at the pool bar. Speaking about that pizza, there was excessive gooey (surrogate?) cheese on it. Very different from the great pizza we had in the Kafenion which was ultimately made in the same central kitchen where all food comes from. Also avoid the cheese on the pasta from the taverna - it had blue spots on it. Nitpicking about the apartment: insufficient power outlets near the bedside table - everyone wants to charge their phone, right?
Nicely built resort with lots of beautiful flowering plants everywhere. Good apartments with terrace, nice pools and seaside access. Great breakfast, pleasant staff. Friendly people in the kids day care. The lady operating the pool bar ‘Plori’ in the evenings deserves a special mention. She truly tries to connect with people and make guests feel recognized and appreciated. And she makes good cocktails!

GermanyIn our room on the ceiling (although it seems they cleaned and painted again), there were signs of mold in a quite a large area which bothered me. In the first time our room was much better in all senses. I asked to do late check out like 1 or 1.5 hour (I am travelling with a kid), they asked me to pay extra money, although I spent already for my expenses in this hotel x50 times more than what they have asked. yes, it is their right to ask for it, but it felt a bit weird, neither I stayed more nor paid the money.
This was our second time in this hotel although I am an explorer of new things. We were so happy in the first time, we have not think of another hotel in that area. It is super child friendly, nice and large village that one does not feel to be stuck in a hotel. The food, sea, pools, green areas and rooms are beautiful. I can strongly suggest for families with babies and toddlers. There is also a great facility for kids.

Apartment was super comfortable with large furnished balcony. Pool area was never too busy - plenty of sun beds. Friendly professional service in bars and restaurant. Beautiful beach.

NetherlandsSome staff memebers are great but there is no consistency in service. For example at the gym the lady did not want to give my husband a towel to use after taking a shower - which is a no brainer. Sometimes the cleaning ladies would come to clean in the afternoon although we told them few times that our daughter will be sleeping.
Everything was just great. Location is perfect since its close to the city center of Agios but at the same time secluded and private. Its not overly crowded and we liked that there were 2 different beaches in the complex: one sandy and another rocky. Its great for kids but also for the adults to relax and enjoy. The staff is really nice, special kudos to Marija, who really made us feel welcome and taken care of :)

United KingdomNot that we didn't like it, but every time we left/entered the resort by car, we had to stop by the barrier and report our room number to the person on duty. Perhaps it would be easier if they installed cards/tokens that we can use to lift the barrier ourselves. Regardless, we felt very safe everywhere around the hotel grounds.
We enjoyed our stay very much, and the staff were all ready to help and approachable. There were various options for dinner, and you were even allowed to bring your own food to the bar whilst watching the entertainment shows. The beach is amazing, with sunbeds on multiple layers, e.g., right on the beach or under the trees in the shade. The view is spectacular, the rooms and facilities are very clean, and the location is 10 minutes by car to Aghios Nikolaos and just over 10 to the picturesque Elounda. Walking by the road to Ag Nikolaos is possible, but there is no pavement, and it takes a good 30 minutes in the scorching sun. We went during August, and it seemed like a family-oriented resort with lots of young children and very quiet. We will definitely visit again. When I chatted with some of the locals in town and mentioned that we were staying at Candia Hotel, they all said that it was one of the best hotels in the area, so it sounded like it had a good reputation. The ice cream in the gelato parlour is amazing, but I also recommend Dodoni in Aghios Nikolaos by the lake - it's a must. The all-inclusive food options were plentiful, there was something for every diet and taste, and the quality was very good. A nice touch was the separate corner with local food only, so you can experience the delicious dakos, kalcunia, yogurt, and other local specialties. There is a separate tavern on site, which serves huge portions so have this in mind if you are with children. Overall we had an amazing and relaxing holiday, and we are looking forward to visiting again soon.

NetherlandsPool opening times are a bit limited, so you can enjoy it mainly in the hottest hours of the day. Mini market is expensive, also the Tavern and beach bar are expensive and food is mediocre. The kitchen in the room could have been better equipped (even some salt & pepper could be nice).
Child friendly, good attention to kids needs. Lots of friendly staff in the kids club. Direct access to beach with nice beach sports activities. Generous and diverse breakfast. The hotel was fully booked, but still did not feel too crowded. Super friendly staff.

GermanyThe perfect spot for holidays with kids. The whole compound is so lovely (especially in comparison to other bigger hotels), designed in the way of a village. Kids can roam the place freely. Everything is oriented towards kids. The kids club had a different program every day and the ladies there were so sweet. Also there's a different evening program which we really enjoyed. We didn’t book the evening buffet and rather enjoyed the food options in the city. We once tried the Taverna at the hotel and it was honestly the only thing that was disappointing for us as it was very expensive for what we got.

PortugalThe main issue of the resort is the sunbeds reservation by the guests. Although there are lots of signs warning the guests about this procedure, this was not applied. So, there were lots of sun beads, covered with towels or stuff from other guests, not used during the most part of the day (or not at all). Those signs and warnings should be applied in fact.
Perfect location with beautiful beach! The food was very good and diverse. The employees were very nice, polite and available.
