The room was very spacious and clean, with a large balcony. The host was very helpful and informative and there is a folder with details of walks in the local area. The breakfast is very good value. Anopoli is a beautiful place and I found everyone to be very welcoming and hospitable.

Everything about this stop on our 2 week hiking trip was perfect. The accommodation upstairs was modern, spotless and spacious, the very reasonably priced taverna food is direct from the family garden, beautifully prepared and flavourful (we were gifted herbs to take back home) and popular with the local community.The host family was extremely welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful. There's a big book of hikes for the area and bikes or 4x4 transfers available at very reasonable prices. By far the best part of our trip, highly recommend this stop for wonderful hiking and peaceful rest in authentic surroundings far away from the coastal tourist offerings. Genuinely sorry to move on and could have stayed here much longer.

A bit of a daunting set of stairs up to the room but well worth it when you get there.

Lovely family run rooms in the middle of the village with excellent food and service. The room was large and had great views over the village and mountains from the private terrace. Everything was very clean and well maintained with a nice atmosphere as a focal point for the comings and goings of the locals.

Great food, clean rooms, friendly staff

Splendid location, very clean and comfortable. The food was very tasty, original, but they were able to cater for our child, who is a fussy eater . The place is a family run and you can feel welcome by the whole family. They also sell some local goodies and very cool t-shirts and other activities. Due to the bad weather our plan had to change and the owner was happy to offer a solution and help!!! Also they were happy to share a local knowledge of the place and were easy to chat. Highly recommend! if only we knew it would be so nice we would plan a longer stay. The village itself was also wonderful, very quiet, authentic with kind friendly people and amazing scenery. Amazing location. The staff were super friendly and could not have done more to help us. Great value for money. The accommodation is basic but clean and food superb. We were shown an abundance of local walks with offers of lifts on the mountain roads when we had enough of hiking. Overall great experience and we will definitely come back

This was our favourite place that we stayed at in Crete. It was excellent value for money. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and made using local produce. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. And the place is located in a lovely peaceful village in the mountains. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the place more and sample more of the excellent menu.

I think we like everything about Anopoli Rooms. It was easy to find, very spacious room, delicious and not expensive food, excellent location! But most of all - attitude with which we were treated was very enjoyable. The owner told us the best places to visit and we found detailed routes for hiking at the hotel with many very interesting books on Crete, antiquities, caves, traditions, etc. It was fascinating! We will come next year!

Our room was about 500 meters from the tavern and the hotel. The room itself was fine but we felt completely isolated there.

Nice room, clean and quite. The owners were very nice and picked us up in the end of our hike (Aradena gorge) back to our car.

The location was perfect for visiting beautiful beaches and for hiking. The hosts were very welcoming, very kind, very good advice and the food is really famous. A special thanks to the owner who kindly offered us beautiful cups in which we take our Greek coffee every morning. I have a thought for you every morning, thank you very much for your services and we hope to see you again. NB: the sunset over Loutro from Παλαιά Ἀνώπολις is beautiful. Thanks !

It can get a bit noisy, you listen noise from corridor and rooms around you. The entrance is through a relatively steep staircase so mind it if you have mobility problems.

Lovely place together with the tavern. Room was very spacious and it has the necessary to a good stay. Anopoli is a very quiet village with very friendly people. Surrounding nature is fantastic.

We loved everything about this place. It has super nice and helpful stuff and the tavern downstairs is amazing. We received the help with hike planning as well as transfer to our car after the hike. During our trip we visited 8 hotels and this one is out favourite by far. Thank you for having us.

My stay here was exceptional. The family was so personable, friendly, and thoughtful, in a genuine and down to earth way. They offered a lot of excellent and thorough advice for hiking in the area, ranging from short trips to full-day arduous ones. No need to come with all your plans formalized, they can point you in the right direction :-). They didn't hesitate to recommend a harder hike upon my request just because I was a lady traveling alone, which I appreciated. The food here was the best I had my whole trip to Crete, so I ate here every meal for my 3 night stay. The rooms are also fantastic. Very clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a nice balcony. Everything about this place was just wonderful. Next time I can travel to Crete, I will plan to stay here longer.

Bed could be a little softer but that is maybe for someone smaller not a problem at all.

Best restaurant, nice owner, who gave us some nice recommondations and even some wine for travelling! Would highly recommend staying here and eating here !
