Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

HungaryWe had the opportunity to spend ten amazing days at The Sand Suites -- Adults Only in Jul 2022. We had arranged an airport transfer (communication with the property was super-efficient), and when the brown iron gates of The Sand Suites opened, we knew we were in paradise. We stayed in Suite 4, with a plunge pool (a.k.a. cold-water tub :) ) with a spacious L-shaped balcony overlooking Almyros Beach. The apartment was decorated in style, and although we did not spend much time indoors, we enjoyed every minute of it -- partly owing to the Nespresso machine that came as standard equipment, an important asset for the two morning-coffee-craving persons that we are. And then there was Lydia. Lydia's job-title is "Concierge", but she is so much more than that. She is a superb hostess, who made us feel at home straight away. She was prepared with restaurant recommendations, she took care of taxi bookings for us (sometimes quite complicated ones), etc., and she was even kind enough to teach us the most important phrases and expressions in Greek to help us navigate our stay. But not only her, all staff at The Sand Suites was outstanding. The lovely lady who would bring us our sumptuous breakfast in a huge wooden crate every morning and who would service our room while we were out showed the same level of kind professionalism every day. And talking about breakfast: it was something to look forward to every day. Breakfast is served in the room at a pre-agreed time (8.15am was our choice, i.e., the earliest time slot) in a large wooden crate with a hand-written "Kali mera!" (="good morning") note on top. Every day, we would get an egg dish, fresh breads, French-press-style coffee, jam and honey, butter, some sandwich, Greek yoghurt and milk, freshly squeezed orange juice, and some nibbles. TBH, we were also part set for dinner! :)

GermanyThe only negative point is the whirlpool in the room. Its not heated and the bubbles last for less than 10 seconds. Maybe in summer time it’s not a big deal but the heating function would be really nice to have in an indoor whirlpool. Except from this everything was perfect.
The staff from reception is very friendly, obliging and fulfilled all our wishes. They arranged us a car, reserved a table at a local restaurant and gave us good recommendations. Our room was really clean and housekeeping did such a good job. They even found our lost headphones and put it back into the case. The room view was also fantastic and the city of Agios Nikolaos is 20 min walk distance away. All in all the stay was fantastic and we will come back.

United KingdomAlthough our stay was virtually perfect, it would be great if the seating/lounge area was a bit more cosy and comfortable to slouch into after a long day. This did not really impact our stay though as we were often out and about. Also, we knew we had booked a room with a private pool but there are only a handful with this feature - you should check the type of room you book so that you aren’t disappointed! They all have some type of hot tub, plunge pool or other though.
Our stay at The Sand Suites was incredible from start to finish - we have never stayed in a place so luxurious and beautiful. We stayed in the Unique Suite with a Private Pool - as soon as we walked into the room we were blown away by the view of the infinity pool and sea view from our room. The decor of the place is modern Scandinavian which feels very light and beachy. The bed was very comfortable and you are provided with all of the toiletries and amenities you need. The little kitchenette could do with more utensils if wanting to cook more of a full meal but otherwise has the essential plates and cutlery you need for light bites. Breakfast is brought to the room every morning which makes it even more relaxing! The selection was varied every day but always included eggs (different ways) and fresh greek produce such as yoghurt and honey. In terms of location, we think Agios Nikolaos in general is a great area to stay - not too touristy but has a good selection of restaurants and shops, as well as enough things to see to keep you busy. We would recommend eating at Piato, Fysalida and Gioma Meze. Also - drinks at Kizmu Sea Lounge is a must! It is a little easier to get around if you have a car, as it allows you to take day trips and experience the Cretan coastline (which is stunning). However, you can take a moderate walk across the beach (which the room provides a private access to) into the centre of Agios Nikolaos….it probably takes around 25 minutes. In any case, a taxi ride is about 5 minutes long and costs around 10 euros one way. If you do take a day trip - Vai Beach is a beautiful little beach to visit. The staff we very friendly and helpful and the rooms were always immaculately clean! We would definitely return.

IsraelThere was nothing to dislike!
My partner and I really enjoyed it, the hospitality was wonderful and really in a good atmosphere, the hotel is of a very high standard and also the food served every morning was very invested and varied, The rooms are very clean and the decor is just insanely beautiful. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, a girl named Lydia from the staff just made us feel at home and on the best vacation we could have asked for, she was just welcoming! For a long time we have not had such a good vacation and I am sure we will return there

United KingdomApprox 25min walk to town, we enjoyed doing this. Our room was on the first floor. The ground floor have very nice large rooms with private pools. I am sure the small plunge pool on our balcony would be useful in the hot months, in The cooler months you are unlikely to use it.
Recently refurbished, Michaelis the manager effectively acted as the concierge throughout our stay. We used what’s app to book restaurants, taxis etc. A very useful service. Breakfast in the room is very well presented.

GermanyThe hot tub was actually a plunge pool, but talking to the owner, we understood the issue there.
The place is quite wonderful. We had a lovely suite with direct view to the ocean. It was all rather quiet and the staff was amazing and thoughtful. The beach is 1 min walking and the breakfast was very tasty.

Amazing host - Marina goes above and beyond. She connects with you the moment you arrive by whats app, which is so handy. She also recommended some amazing restaurants to us. We booked a room with a private pool, which was amazing. The pool and room were both bigger than we expected and the view was spectaular.

AustraliaThe location overlooking Almyros Beach was fantastic, the room was clean, spacious and elegantly designed. The private pool in the unique suite was excellent. Breakfast baskets were fresh, delicious and varied. However, the best quality of the hotel was Marina, the General Manager. What a human being. Incredibly helpful, kind and wonderfully friendly presence in the hotel. She took Greek hospitality to a new level.

NetherlandsStaying in this resort was truly a wonderful experience. We had a room with a private pool and with a sea view. The room was specious and comfortable, with its interior perfectly blending with the Mediterranean paradise that Crete is. What provided an added value to this experience was the friendliness and hospitality of the hostess, Marina. Her pleasant personality and the great tips she provided for dining and sightseeing made our stay in the resort even more memorable. Overall an unforgettable vacation. Thanks!!
