Get there right at opening time to see a special welcome by...
Get there right at opening time to see a special welcome by the front gate. If you've got kids, prioritize the ninja and samurai trainings and shows (bonus : the theaters are air conditioned). It took us about 6 hours but it could easily take longer if you see every show and had the kid - free luxury of reading all the information in the exhibits. Parking is very expensive so consider using the free shuttle.

In particular, the waitresses (dheika and her colleague from Vietnam) were always so kind and attentive. Huge meals. Easy free parking and very close to Edo Wonderland and forest walks. Nice to be in an older style traditional ryokan rather than the bigger glitzy hotel next door.StephenAustralia
