Built in the 19th-century, this luxurious 5-star hotel is nestled on a sub-tropical garden on a hilltop overlooking the Tagus River. It has an expansive spa and indoor and outdoor pools. The staff was so sweet and chatty and indulged us as we attempted to speak Portuguese. The room service and breakfast was great and the beds were soft. It's basically the Four Seasons without the snooty attitudes and inflated prices.

Consisting of about 9 individually named and decorated rooms, it met with all of our expectations, friendly, professional, eclectic, so much better than some of the bland which many more up market hotels deliver. We are regular visitors to Lisbon and have tried many Hotels including 5 star, but we will be back to TocTocToc again and again. Cosy, intimate, we left feeling we had made new friends and the owners should be proud of their wonderful staff. Thank you all
