It was a home from home. Only a short drive from several counties including Galway, Clare, Offaly and Tipperary. Service on the phone isn't great and no wifi as stated but that didn't bother us. Just get out and enjoy yourself, plenty of places to go and things to do. We went everywhere. Lena is such a lovely host and very informative of things to do around the area and also some local history. Really lovely lady. Thanks for everything Lena especially the lovely eggs you gave us. Beautifully renovated and appointed old stone house. Shrule was a great base to explore the beautiful Connemara region. Was a real treat to stay at Blackriver House.

The property was beautiful, clean and comfortable, everything we needed and the hosts were so friendly and helpful. We highly recommend a stay, about 1 hour easy drive from downtown Galway. And a pretty beach nearby.
