We were looking for somewhere to stay whilst exploring the Serra da Estrela Nature Park and also to relax after 10 days on the motorcycle. A lot of people recommend Covilha, but for us Loriga was the right choice. Casa da Cantareira is well equipped with everything you would need, we needed to do some washing and the washing machine was put to use, having a garage to house the bike was a bonus. Tiago was an excellent host offering advice on where to eat, walk and visit (so many that we will have to go back). Fresh bread being delivered in the morning courtesy of Tiago was a lovely touch and much appreciated. He also stayed in touch whilst we were there to ensure everything was OK

I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and repairs in the house, a heated shower room, as well as the housing itself. Convenient location to walking routes, next to a parking lot, silence at night, there is a place for a barbecue.

Cute 3 store house mostly done with wood inside. It have a fireplace but no wood provided. The small kitchen have everything you need and the cutlery are a nice addition to the mood of the place

Pretty much everything, such a cosy, beautiful place to hang out and enjoy the silence! We got free jams, bread, pasta etc. everything was there in the house! Amazing sunset views and such a nice host Rosa even though we didn’t speak Portuguese. Quite a beautiful but steep and narrow route to get to the house. 10/10, really recommend going if you plan on visiting the National park near by. It’s truly an adventure to get there and is a contrast to the city life.

Cozy two bedroom apartment. The location was great for exploring the mountain areas. The unit was warm even in cold winter weather. We parked outside the restaurant. Easy check-in with lockbox, and hosts were very friendly, communitive and responsive. Lots of information available for the local area. Including good tip to buy fresh bread from the local bakers that drive through the little village. We will stay there again when in Serra da Estrella.
