great location! ideal climate (not cold like in the mountains and not hot like on the beaches). very close exit to the main road to get anywhere on the island. nearby is a local store with everything you need. great car! Mercedes with automatic drive. very nice owner! provided excellent advice and support. and the house itself is ideal for a couple's vacation! there is everything you need and even more.

Amazing location, great property. Everything was modern and clean! Would definitely recommend a car. There is even a terrace with an amazing view of the ocean. We got unlucky with the weather - there was a 48 hr storm over the island so we didn’t get to fully appreciate the terrace. However, really enjoyed our stay here and Joao was very helpful.

Fabulous spacious villa in a wonderful location. Jan was always welcoming, cheerful and helpful with many tips about local places to visit. The villa was spacious, clean, comfortable, well equipped with good quality furnishings and finishings. Jan has taken great care in renovating the villa so it all feels new and a special treat to stay there for a holiday. The private pool and outdoor areas were perfect to relax in after a day walking in the hills. Supermarkets and restaurants are just a short walk away. We didn’t hire a car but used taxis and buses to get around. There is a bus stop 5 mins walk from the villa with buses into Funchal for 2 euros each way. There is also a taxi rank next to the bus stop. We also used the Bolt app which is like Uber. I would highly recommend this place. We’ll definitely return - we’re already missing waking up to views of the sea each morning. Thanks Jan for a wonderful holiday.

We spent an amazing week at the villa that is very well located - close to capital but quiet with many nearby attractions and levada walk. However I would recommend renting a car as the island has so many things to offer. Great place for families with kids as the big closed garden (~1000meters) and big heated (extra charge) pool. The house is fully equipped and nicely furnished. 4 separate bedrooms and a lot of space inside the house as well.

We liked everything: location, proximity to great restaurants, stores, best frutaria, 10 min drive from Funchal and to sandy Machico beach, quiet neighborhood, amazing view from two large balconies, where we had a coffee on the morning and watched the moon falling in the ocean at night, comfortable beds, all you might need in the house is there and great host! Also, Alex's mom Eva is a super sweet woman who wants you to be comfortable and happy, and if you ever need anything, she leaves very close and can help right away. I had a birthday while we were there and Eva left me a little birthday cake, such a sweet surprise. Also, we appreciated the wine and fruits she greeted us with at check-in, and we were able to leave our luggage before check-in as well, which was very convenient. And, as a cat/dog owners we were happy to feed on premise cats: Missy, Stripy and Boss (we named them except Missy-:), they're fun trio. We had a great time at Alex's house and hope it will be available for our next trip to Madeira! Thanks, Alex!

A beautiful holiday home, spotlessly clean, just as good as it looks in the pictures. It had everything you could need, including a small barbecue and a hairdryer (not mentioned in the listing but very useful to have). The views are wonderful and the place itself is huge, and of course there is that fantastic private (but unheated) pool. We also much preferred Caniço to Funchal, it's a more peaceful, prettier location in my opinion. You do need a car really, the shops are a 5min drive but would be a pain to go on foot due to it being so hilly. The beach with the cable car nearby is lovely, the restaurant there is worth a visit for a drink at least.

We booked Casa Maravilha III for two weeks and enjoyed every day there. The view from the terrace and from both livingrooms is gorgeous, especially at sunrise. The house is modern, spacious and of high quality. The kitchen had everything what we expected and even more. The beds are a bit harder than those we are used to in Germany, but that was not a problem for us. We liked the good sized grill, the outdoor shower and the exotic fruits from the garden. The house is conveniently located near some good restaurants and supermarket. We felt like home and if we come back to Madeira we will book again Maravilha III. Many thanks to Miguel who made our stay so pleasant.

    It was excellent holiday; location, house, pool with the great ocean view... Very comfortable and well furnished house. We enjoyed terrace with ocean view, also lot of time spent playing billiards. The host was very helpful.

    Amaxing location, just on the cliffs with a view over the ocean. Room was big and comfortable. Breakfast was good with some adjustments every day. Canico is nice small village, away from the hustle and bustle of Funchal but close to everything.

    Lovely place! We enjoyed watching movies on the big TV in the evenings. It has lots of natural light, some nice views and it even has 2 bathrooms! And it was clean. Yes, the building is a bit old, which comes with some smells and noises from neighbors, but it didn’t bother us too much. It’s not a luxury but for such a good price it is worth it.

    Beautiful hotel in Canico village, attentive staff, very rich and delicious buffet breakfast, the sister hotel Galomar has great outdoor 'natural' pool area for swimming. My room was huge and very comfortable. The yoga room is fantastic and the sunrise and sunset views from the hotel are very nice.

    Very nice hotel. We stayed only one night at the end of holiday. Half of our family stayed in room in the main building which was great with fireplace and spacious bedroom. Others stayed in apartment in nearby villa, which was also nice but would definitely need some refurbishment and facelift. Good location with restaurant terrace on the cliff - beautiful! is just 10 min to the airport . Tasty breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. I can imagine staying there again.

    Very clean villa in an excellent location. Any problems were quickly resolved by HR Madeira. Great place to watch the New Year Fireworks (50 yards down the road from villa)

    Great location, close to the ocean and services. Fantastic sea view from the terrace The villa is very well maintained and decorated. You can cook just about anything in the kitchen, its fully equipped. Special mention for the beds, the mattresses are very comfortable, Huge TV with all main streaming platforms, great for a cozy night at home. Our only regret was not staying longer. We will most definitely be back for a 2 week stay. As for the host, very friendly, attentive and always ready to help We loved it.
