This is probably one of the best properties on the island,retaining a true Malaysian atmosphere, far from the mass tourism resorts. We loved the authentic wooden villa we stayed in, it had a truly home away from home feeling. The garden is superbly kept and the swimming pool is amazing, a perfect place to relax and unwind. Yes, there are three dogs and three cats but the pets are so well mannered and never intrusive. We felt in love with them! Also, we found the villa to have just the right temperature without having to use the AC. The fans were definitely enough! The owners are always there to give you advice and support, should you need it. We particularly appreciate the fact that we could buy a few supplies the night we arrived, since they run a small shop on the premises. Also, Gudrun was so kind as to book me a fantastic full body massage and the therapist who came is the most amazing woman I have ever met. We are now spending the last few days in Langkawi in a different place but we definitely miss our Sunset Valley villa, its peaceful atmosphere and easy going feeling. We should have stayed there until the end of our vacation, I do regret moving to another location.

I would like to express my gratitude to Ms. Idayu, the owner of the homestay, for her outstanding customer service. She was extremely polite, responsive, and helpful throughout our 4-day, 3-night stay. Her local knowledge allowed her to introduce us to some of the best attractions in Langkawi, such as Skycab, Hopping Island, Mangrove Tour, and car rental with various package options suitable for our group of 8. The homestay is situated in a small village, and while the road leading to it is narrow, just drive carefully. it is only a 5-minute drive from the airport and a 15-minute drive from the famous Pantai Chenang beach. Its convenient location also makes it easy for us to access other attractions like Mangrove Tanjung Rhu, Skycab, and Kuah, which are all within a 20 to 30-minute drive. The homestay is perfect for families or large groups, as it can accommodate up to 8 people comfortably. The homely atmosphere and full range of amenities, including a kitchenette (with a stove, fridge, cooking tools, cutlery, utensils, electric water heater, blender, rice cooker, coffee & tea, and sugar), washing machine, hot shower, air conditioning, fan, toiletries, ironing board, hairdryer, television, and more, make it feel like a home away from home. The living and dining areas are spacious, making it ideal for group gatherings, and we enjoyed spending time together at the dining table. Overall, our experience at this homestay was enjoyable and memorable, and we highly recommend it to other travelers seeking a comfortable and well-equipped accommodation in Langkawi.
