With Mediterranean-style décor and air conditioning, all rooms at the Arenella Hotel have a private entrance. Each includes a flat-screen TV, minibar and safe. Some rooms overlook the sea. Our stay in Giglio met our expectations. It’s a popular destination for Italian holiday makers so it’s not or wasn’t over run with tourists like ourselves. The town looked pretty from the ferry. The hotel staff were great at keeping in touch with us regarding our arrival time and where to find the hotel shuttle. The hotel is situated about seven minutes up and over the hill from the port so it was necessary to make use of the shuttle when we needed to get to town. The staff in all areas were friendly and helpful especially the drivers of the shuttle. They assisted us a few times to locate the right bus or a taxi. The hotel itself has a wonderful view out to sea and from the little beach you can look back up at the hilltop village. The breakfast was great, plenty of variety, even muesli. We dined twice in the terrace and enjoyed what was on offer. The staff in the restaurant were kind, helpful and efficient.

Rooms at Castello Monticello are air conditioned and feature a TV, minibar and private bathroom. They offer views of the hotel's garden or the sea. The hotel is located up the hill from the charming little port, with sweeping views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. The hotel provided shuttle service to the beach and to the port where there are many services and restaurants. We chose to walk to one of the loveliest of the beaches, maybe a half mile away, and took the island bus system (efficient, quick) to one of the others. The hotel staff graciously and cheerfully accommodated all of our needs.
