Housed in a 15th-century farmhouse, this Dalarna countryside hotel is 400 meters from Lake Siljan. It offers free Wi-Fi and charming rooms with luxury beds and a flat-screen TV. It’s a lovely family owned hotel with a very long history. The hotel is very cosy with lots of attention to details. We stayed in the main building and everything was easily accessible for my elderly parents. I celebrated my 60th birthday there and it was perfect with a beautiful mini suite and excellent food and wine. It’s a bit expensive but at least we felt it was worthwhile. So rare to find a good hotel that also has a good restaurant. The outdoor heated pool was a lovely place to relax.

L'Elite Hotel Brage si trova nel centro di Borlänge, nel cuore della Dalarna, a 5 minuti a piedi dalla stazione ferroviaria centrale. Il personale molto disponibile, io non parlo bene l'inglese e si sono preoccupati che capissi bene tutto. La struttura è molto bella e in una posizione comoda per gli spostamenti in treno e bus. Ottima la colazione.

Scenically set in the village of Sörsjön, this B&B is 35 km north of Sälen at the base of Fulufjället Mountain. It offers communal kitchen facilities and spa treatments on site. Spacious rooms with great view and a cozy shared living-room with television, snacks and beverages. Excellent shared kitchenette, but really a complete kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer and utensils. Could make my own breakfast there although the offered breakfast is excellent too.
