This 4-star guest house is set within a 19th-century Victorian building overlooking Kelvingrove Park with excellent views across Glasgow. Only 20 minute walk from Glasgow’s centre, the Alamo Guest House sits within the West End, close to Sauchiehall and Argyle Streets restaurants and bars.

Guests at The Alamo Guest House can enjoy complementary breakfast, including fresh fruit, pastries, and cooked hot breakfast.

This property is ideally located equidistant to the exhibition train stop and the Kelvin Bridge Subway stop, about a 10min walk each way. It is located in a vibrant, trendy part of the city, close to the University and the SEC as well as the Kelvingrove and Hunterian Art Galleries. The rooms are well appointed and suitably grand. But the highlight of this establishment is the personalised breakfast service. Delivered to your table or to your room, it always come with a smile and is always fresh and warm. The veggie haggis is a must try. Special thanks, particularly to Jennifer and Steve for their hospitality. Its this type of service that made me more satisfied with a guest house stay over a commercial hotel chain.

The spacious apartment with a terrace and river views features 2 bedrooms, a living room, a flat-screen TV, an equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and an oven, and 1 bathroom with a bath. A private entrance leads guests into the apartment, where they can enjoy some wine or champagne and chocolates or cookies. This apartment is allergy-free and non-smoking.

My friend and I booked this apartment for a night out during last weeks heatwave, it was so good that we scrapped the night out early and stayed in. The balcony/terrace was just perfect and the view was breathtaking, a real home away from home. Can’t speak any more highly of Frank, he went over and above from the moment we booked. He stayed in contact throughout and arranged an early check in for us and, he made sure everything was ok and also gave us a safe taxi number. Absolute gentleman, I will be booking this apartment anytime I come to stay in Glasgow.

The hostel was friendly, reception very helpful with advice for places to eat nearby. Plenty of space to relax in, lounge area's, smaller seated area's. Dorm room and bed clean and tidy. I liked the location away from main rush of Glasgow, great view over part of city, and near to Kelvin Grove Park, walking distance to museum and art gallery. The information board was a great idea. Breakfast was OK.

The room was an excellent size and pretty sound proof given its location. The toilet was spacious and the rainfall shower was excellent. Our room came with spa access which was amazing, the sauna was a great detox the morning after a night on the town. The attached restaurant's breakfast was excellent also.
