On my first arriving at the hotel after check in last Monday afternoon I went to the concierge desk to ask a question. In fact I asked several questions and so did two other guests. The young man on duty as concierge did a superb job of dealing very corteously and efficiently with all our requests. He rounded this tour de force off by recommending to me a performance at the Opera Royal and rang and booked me a ticket within a few minutes. Apart from the pleasure of that visit to the Theatre at the Chateau de Versailles I also thought that this young man would be a finalist in any world championships for les concierges. It set a great tone for my whole stay over four days . This is 5 star customer service at its best.

Lobby area is very spacious, with sofas to relax. Rooms are very clean and spacious. We even had a free upgrade to a Deluxe room. Train station and all the food places are working distance from the hotel. Found halal food places on Rue Des Etats Generaux, which was around the corner from the hotel. It's location, immediately outside the palace of Versailles, could not be better, and each room (I've stayed in two so far) seems to have stunning decoration - vast wall murals of the palace. The room was spacious, the bed and linens divine, a beautiful pastoral view, the bathroom was immense. The pool is immense but a bit chilly for my taste. Breakfast was wonderful, a buffet with omelet bar, a good array of salads, plus the croissants, fruit, bacon, sauna sage, scrambled eggs.
