To have Bergheim as a centre was a great choice - not too touristy. The apartment complex was fabulous - quiet, relaxed, and our apartment was very well equipped. It was a great / superb experience staying in this beautiful hotel. Arriving in the city and at hotel means entering a different world which offers relaxation and French hospitality. Flowers and vine branches everywhere with old machinery such as wine presses on display. If you love romantic rooms with old but restored furniture (like we do), however with a modern bathroom it is a MUST to book this hideaway! We also had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant - it was very tasty and the prices were totally fine! Another plus point: As it was my boyfriends birthday i asked if it is possible to have a small cake in the morning ... well it worked out and we both had 2 wonderful tartelets in the morning - THANK YOU! In general the region is very scenic - there are quite a lot of things to do (especially for kids being 6/7+) BUT Bergheim is very sleepy. If you want to have a drink in the evening (especially on Wedndesdays / thursday when the restaurant is closed) it is almost impossible to find something. So get some drinks in advance and take advantage of the 2 beautiful inner courtyards of the hotel.
