Quiet location in the forest by the duck-lake, paths for running and walking all around, comfortable room, friendly staff, tasty breakfast with wide offer, nice menu for dinner - delicious cuisine. Sauna and short swimming pool is extra bonus for tired travellers.

Big room, very clean, Spartan in the extreme, felt like slightly glorified student housing. Summers are warm here these days and no air conditioning, so be prepared to sweat. Foreign staff are fantastic, German staff are stern.

The hotel has a lovely ambience and is well positioned for transport links and the historical centre. The bedroom we had was small but very comfortable and the bathroom was entirely adequate with plentiful hot water. We particularly liked the library adjacent to the reception desk, which was perfect for relaxing. We did not use the Spa.
