The hotel is close to the train station which is great if you want to travel to Bruges/Antwerp/Brussels and about 20mins walking from the old town of Ghent..the bed was comfy and the hotel is spotlessly clean...breakfast was scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon alongside good range of cold meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, yogurts and pastries all good quality...staff were really friendly and always greeted politely...there is a small room by reception providing free tea and coffee to guests.

Located in the Flemish region of Belgium, the beautiful medieval city of Ghent is not only a city of history, but also a romantic place
to visit. The city is full of hidden historical, cultural and culinary gems that you can easily discover.
The Gravensteen or 'Castle of the Count' is a deceptively enchanting sight dating back to the Middle Ages. Constructed by Philip of Alsace, the count of Flanders, it's partially surrounded by a moat and beautifully restored, and hosts an interesting museum about the history of prison life.
Part of the UNESCO World Heritage list, the Belfry of Ghent is a medieval tower overlooking the Old Town centre. Saint Bavo Cathedral and Saint Nicholas' Church are the city's other two towers, with St. Nicholas' Church being one of the oldest landmarks in Ghent (known as Gent in Flemish).
Enjoy a relaxing walk in the picturesque medieval streets and stop at one of the charming traditional restaurants for Belgium beer and a classic Flemish meat stew with French fries. Local delicacies include the popular Belgium chocolate and the purple jelly-filled candies called the 'noses'.

The Industrial Museum (MIAT) has impressive and some unique objects, as befits the first Manchester of the continent. Vooruit for workers' social solidarity and a bar. Also thought-provoking is the Dr Josef Guislain museum in a still-used asylum (take tram #2).
Note that some tram routes, e.g, #4 to Nord Dokk, no longer operate.

A historic university city.
A historic university city. Preserves its strong Flemish identity.
Has a vibrant city centre and has a 'gothic feel' to it - but, not as strong as Bruges or to Brussels.
Once the main train station has completed its rebuild, it will enhance the city as a more inviting place.
We had dinner in the student sector and found it expensive. It's easy to get around Ghent by public transport. Trams need to be upgraded with easier payment systems and electronic information boards. Compared to Netherlands, Belgium's Tourist Information-points or Centres are not that easily accessible.
I would avoid staying near the main train station during its current building works due to noise and dust. The latter if you're allergic to dust.

Augmented Reality at St Bavo's Caythedral was exceptional.
Augmented Reality at St Bavo's Caythedral was exceptional. Almost everything in the city is walkable from the centre. Cars, trams, bikes and pedestrians share streets which means being careful when you walk. Altogether this was a visit to remember which will bring a smile to my face. Heartily recommended. With over 5000 students at the university the positive atmosphere was almost tangible. And the quality of life looked very good with excellent restaurants at reasonable prices and chic shops with good design on offer.

A beautiful, lively city with many easily accessible sights, concentrated in the centre. Easy communications by train or bus to/from other towns and good public transport within the city. Plenty of shops, restaurants, cafés, and a large pedestrian area. One can easily spend a few hours in one of the many museums on a rainy day.

It can get a bit full of walking tours and people in general - don't go at peak tourist times! Away from the centre there are lovely little bars and places to look at. It's crammed with beautiful art nouveau buildings. It prides itself on its artistic and musical connections - lots of students, and you could hear music practice going on in many places. There are local breweries with many delicious beers.

Two nights would've been better...lots to see.
Two nights would've been better...lots to see. Our favorite Belgium chocolates and waffles of our entire trip were found in Ghent (Gant). We choose to not do the museum or castle tours, but enjoyed the boat tour and walking through the streets, shopping, and people watching. On the weekend, the streets were pretty packed, but more families than we found in Brussels. Do the St. Babo's virtual tour if you visit--so much more information. We didn't a car. Try to get a seat near the canal for an afternoon snack/drink--lovely place to sit and relax.
Excellent hotel in a perfect location within walking distance of all of the major attractions, shops, restaurants, cafes & bars but also close to bus & tram routes. Our family room was spacious, very clean, light & airy & quiet. Breakfast was available if wanted & offered a wide variety of hot and cold food & drinks. There was always a member of staff at reception & all were extremely friendly, helpful & multilingual. I would totally recommend staying here when visiting Ghent.
They were able to give us the Egyptian room upon request. The best breakfast in Ghent. It is a time warp when you step inside. This is place oozes history and takes you back to a time when travel was simpler. Its not for the person who likes it shiny and contemporary. It was like staying in a museum. Parking is available upon request in the garage next to the entrance. The tram stop to city center is a minute walk from the hotel. Its quirky, but we enjoyed it immensely.
The apartment is located in an old house with all windows looking to the medieval Gravensteen castle. It is spread on three levels , Kitcken and dinning , living and up in the attic the bedroom. It is decorated with historic and artistic flair but having all modern facilities the modern traveler might need ( including washer and dish washer).
It was a beautiful surprise for a short vacation as was town Ghent itself .
This hotel is just around the corner from the Gent-Sint-Pieters Train Station and tram to city centre. The owner is fantastic - friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome! He gave us directions to walk to city centre (around 30 minute walk or a quick tram ride) and highlights of Ghent to see. We loved the charm and architecture of the building. The value was good.
Squeaky clean, spacious, bright, modern, almost new apartment. Close to things yet very quiet. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. Will definitely book again when/if back to Ghent. Very kind and thoughtful host. They tastefully decorated the rooms and thoughtfully provided amenities, as if the ones coming to stay are not guest but family.
The location is perfect, you can walk into the centre of Ghent (20mins or so) along some pretty canals. The breakfast buffet was great. The hotel has an underground car park which is very convenient. The garden outback opens up into a stunning public park, where you can walk the dog on a lead. It was perfect.
We enjoyed out stay.
The Location of the property was the only good thing about it, it was a half an hour walk from either train station and easy to walk to everywhere.
Ghent is amazing for children, all the museums and galleries have fun things to keep them occupied, and it's a really walkable city with great food!
The rooms were very pleasant and comfy, and the hosts super friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the old house and being in an authentic Ghent apartment rather than a hotel. It’s very simple and pretty, and has a little kitchenette and everything you need for an affordable stay in Ghent.
The breakfast was spectacular! Great cheeses, lovely fresh fruit, variety of unique breads, eggs made to order, Greek yogurt, natural granola, chocolate, great coffee and more! The serving staff were friendly and attentive. Best breakfast of our 9 days thus far in Belgium!
The hotel is big, modern and clean compared to the ones in Ghent city center. Big parking slot with a reasonable price of 10 eur per night. There is a big supermarket just in front which makes the stay super convenient if you need to grab a thing or two.
A friendly and very comfortable hotel in a lovely location in Ghent, in walking distance to the gardens. Breakfast is delicious and includes fresh orange juice and eggs are made to order! There are excellent restaurants in the area and parking on site.
I stayed two nights in enchanting Ghent and will come back. Maybe to dance Hotel. Hotel location is great, tram stop nearby, center of town, many eateries walking distance. Staff are friendly and rooms are clean . They have elevator/lift.
Excellent, centrally located, reasonably priced hotel in Ghent, about a 15 minute tram ride from Gint St. Pieters train station.. Staff was professional, courteous, and informative. We would stay there again.
Very comfortable little hotel close to the train station in Ghent. Clean, comfortable, modern. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect for a short work trip to Ghent and even for a holiday.
Beautiful hotel, great location. Unfortunately it was a very rushed trip but the staff made my stay as comfortable as possible. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Ghent.
The design and everything in the room are from Belgium brand, and the room is very cozy and comfortable. The location is good, so it’s easy to visit famous tourist spots.
A hotel located in an authentic former villa, with nice rooms, an excellent breakfast, free parking space and close to public transport throughout the city of Ghent.
