Bastia is a gorgeous village and very close to Saint Florent as well airport and a beautiful beach near the airport. We aren’t museum people but it was really very interesting in the citadel… worth a visit and free in the off season. Perhaps just a few days in Bastia would be sufficient and then head further south to explore.

City port with pretty historic center, main square, smaller port surrounded by the restaurants. Streets with the shops, cafes, good to stay for day or two. For everybody who likes the history, boats, shops, cafes and restaurants. Several public parking places (garages) are helpful, parking in the center is not easy, especially with the bigger car. Good shops with local deli.

Bastia is an interesting city. Lots to see and do.
Bastia is an interesting city. Lots to see and do. The train journey to Ajaccio is four hours, but it’s worth doing for the stunning scenery. Apart from that there isn’t much public transport in Corsica, so it’s not easy to explore the island with a vehicle.

A nice city with a tree lined main square the citadel was beautiful and a must to visit. The port areas had some lovely restaurants and bars. Some parts of the town are a little scruffy with graffiti but unfortunately it has become expected in most cities today, just sad it spoils some of the old quaint streets.
Plenty of buses and taxis and a main train station.
Some parts are steep for walking .
Felt safe and people were friendly,

Bastia is a busy ferry harbour city.
Bastia is a busy ferry harbour city. It is a gateway to Corsica. It has several nice pedestrian only streets with plenty of shops and places to eat. It is fine for a night or two as you enter / exit Corsica (ferry or plane) it is a good hub for onward travel (bus and train) but it is not a holiday destination. There are no beaches within walking distance of the city centre.

This is not a holiday destination for those who like to laze on a sandy beach. It is a very beautiful mountainous island full of history, with its small towns that seem to cling to the sides of the mountains, its ancient buildings that look like they are crumbling, it's narrow winding streets with steps everywhere, its lively restaurants and bars that are a mixture of Corsican and Italian and a sea that is one minute like a mill pond and quite wild the next. The views are breathtaking, and the people are very friendly and proud of their heritage. It is a wild unspoilt place where the language is often Italian, the food has a very italian influence and the people are really kind. The town of Bastia is quite small so take the coastal train or bus. It is possible to visit the whole island in 2 weeks and well worth it.
Location, location, location. The apartment is beautifully located with direct view and access to the old port. It’s comfortably furnished and features a modern and spacious bathroom. It was clean and communications with our host were easy, quick and left no question unanswered. Information for parking and restaurants was delivered with the check-in information and helped guide us during our stay. Bastia was a wonderful first stop on our trip to Corsica and the apartment was a very good place to begin.
A spacious apartment with 3 bedrooms, very well suitable for our family of 5 persons. Beautiful view on the sea from the living room, free parking outside. The owner is a friendly and nice person. Good location, especially if you have a car, but a bus stop is also nearby. Not far from the centre, a supermarket Monoprix about 1 km, big beach in a close distance and the airport easily accessible.
the location of the peroperty is just amazing. amazing rooftop restaurant and the view from the room is very beautiful. little away from the city centre but also very peaceful compared to the busy streets at the city centre. this hotel is on the way to cap corse so if you have only one day and want to do cap corse during your stay in Bastia, the location is perfect! staff is also very helpful
Exceptionally well located and decorated. The concept is so nice we could have stayed in half a day visiting all the corridors and pictures.
It is such a cozy place that makes you feel really confortable.
All the staff and the Owner are so kind, smiling and helping!
I really recommend this hotel and we shall definitely come back when visiting Bastia again.
Very nice small hotel located close to Bastia. The nearest beach is 7 min walk from the hotel. We were upgraded to a higher level room with a sea view. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The breakfast is served at the lovely terrace. The hotel also proposes dinners.
A central location close to the train station, port, cafes and restaurants. A tiny and neat room, but clean and comfortable. I had a room with a small balcony into the small courtyard where breakfast was served.
I didn’t pay for the breakfast, many nice cafes in the surroundings.
The hotel is beautifully situated. The terrace has the best view of the old city and the sea in Bastia.
Under the window by the bar, jasmine grows, which spreads a beautiful fragrance to the entire ground floor.
The linen is changed daily. The hotel is kept very clean.
Incredible noisy… the Windows are so cheap, it is like as if there are none. We stayed in a Junior Suite and didn’t sleep at all as the hotel is next to a big street and a port with many parties.
Staff didn’t help, also no reimbursements or guestures
well designed and tasteful abode with view over rooftops to sea, quiet, well located in old part of town, beach vicinity for morning run and swim, newly renovated, prompt communication with host, easy self-instructed access via key box;
we had a last minute stay in Bastia and couldn’t recommend this hotel more highly. much much better than it needed to be! lovely people, super clean and cozy rooms, great breakfast, super reasonably priced, amazing pool.
The hotel is family run and the staff pleasant. Bastia is a busy city but you could walk from the hotel to the Citadel and Port along the sea front. They have a pretty terrace/garden for breakfast or an evening drink.
Best location in Bastia. Lovely and cozy hotel with an incredible interior design. Every room is different which makes your stay even more special. Highly recommended! Lovely and helpful staff.
Very clean, spacious room with separate bathroom and toilet. Lovely terrace area and pool. Well situated near the ferry port, a small pebble beach and only a short walk to the centre of Bastia.
New modern hotel with a very comfortable rooms. Room was equipped with microwave and fridge. 10 mins to the old city. Nice place to recharge your batteries traveling around Corsica.
