Room was really nice and well-located between center of the town and the beach. Only drawback is that the street was quite busy and noisy. The bed was ok but not great. Personnel was only available if needed, but flexible. I appreciated it very much that I could use a bike without extra cost.

It's a magnificent place with a special charm and family spirit. You will feel very welcomed, like a friend of them. And as a cherry on top you will get a super tasty homemade Sicilian-style breakfast.
I can't say enough good things about this place, just book it and you'll find the great people and real hospitality.

Very nice little oasis close to Avola with a very friendly family owner.
Avola is a pleasant town. There is plenty to see near by that can be reached by bus or car, Syracuse and Noto being the highlights.
We hired a small boat from the harbour with a skipper and had the most a fabulous day out!

Avola is a nice town near the sea: famous for its almonds, honey and wine, it has some baroque feeling to it, though not as much as Scicli for instance. It is a near-perfect base to visit Syracusae, the beaches of Noto or the town of Modica: all within reach from 20 minutes to 1 hour, but it can also be a relaxing place in itself. A recommendation would be to visit "Bar Pasticceria Mangiafico" in town, that since 1972 delivers quality in pastries and sicilian street food!
On the side of warnings, it needs to be said that the old town has very narrow roads, and getting around by car requires some driving skills.

Avola seems like a ghost town in peak summer times
No good restaurants, no bars and nothing seems to be happening.
All the shops seemed closed once you got off the beach. Luckily I had a car so I could drive to neighbouring cities

Difficult with a car. Narrow matrix of streets.
Difficult with a car. Narrow matrix of streets. Needs Google maps and a navigator even to get to Centro storico. Easier on seafront. More space , more facilities. Seawater beautifully clean, beaches safe.

Avola isn't the prettiest town, though it does have its nice parts, but it is the perfect base to explore south east Sicily. The beaches are decent, there are plenty of nice places to eat and the access is good.
Our host Chiara was amazing. She gave us a tour of the apartment to show how everything works, and even left us some wine and chocolates. The apartment itself is lovely and very cosy. Chiara responds to any messages very quickly and even drove us herself to the city of Noto (as we didn't have a car) which was so kind of her, her husband booked us lunch at a nice restaurant, and she picked us up to take us home later on in the day. Out of the kindness of her heart. The apartment has all the facilities you need and is a great stay in Avola!
Apartment was new, modern and super clean, everything was great. A lot of Avolas town restaurants, bars and beach in walking distance (10-15 min), amazing coffee and gelato just around the corner. Car parking is on the street by the house - very convenient.
The water heater is a bit too small for two hot showers in a row.
The front patio is shared with other neighbors.
The host was nice and friendly! :)
Overall- we had a pleasent stay.
great view of the sea from the roof terrace, great variety of breakfast, tasty; clean and well maintained place, large, comfortable room; if staying around Avola, we would certainly return; parking on the grounds of the property is good; there is a little playground for kids in the garden; communication with the host mostly in Italian, English limited, but that adds to the local experience, not a big problem :)
B&B Shining Avola is placed in a great part of Sicily, close to amazing beaches and other places worth visiting, such as Syracuse, Noto and Modica.
It’s a quiet place, only few people can live there at the same time and we got to meet them and connect with them even for a little bit.
The host Corrado and his family are amazing people! They make your stay feel like being at home! Very friendly and hospitable!
I loved the facility which is a proper B&B, almost hotel-like. The property has a reception hall with lots of beautiful plants, a large breakfast area and a nice swimming pool, making the place look like a little paradise inside Avola. They offered an excellent breakfast and even served almond milk from the territory ( we had almond cappuccino) which was a real treat.
Valentina was a wonderful host! Great communication and amazing care of her guests, providing an extremely rich breakfast, also including fresh croissants of choice from local bakery, and suggestions about attractions to visit around Avola. The room was clean and comfortable, parking was easy on the street. It was a really pleasant stay. Strongly recommended!
Uncomplicated, clean and great breakfast 😁
I first went here to rent a car, and that was fine, was very last minute. And when we went to the hotel, we saw how clean it o
Looked and smelled and Maria at the desk was very nice, so when we wanted a beachside hotel later, we directly booked this, and did not regret it 😁
Tenuta Don Paolino exceeded our expectations; the property was so beautiful and peaceful. An afternoon spent relaxing at the pool was a highlight of our travels on Sicily! Breakfast on the patio each morning was perfect. It was a lovely place to stay and would recommend!
The best location in Sicily. The villa is amazing ( I have fallen in love with it ), at 3 steps to the beach ( with sand ), very, very close to many restaurants. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back to stay more days than I stayed now.
Very nice and very clean family apartment with little private garden. Nice host, who lives just next door. 20 min walk to the nice sandy beach. 30-40 min walk to Avola city center and stores. Ideal for families. Host green attitude, garbage sorting. Fast internet.
The concept and location of the hotel. It is a small, approximately 20 rooms, and looked like a family run business. Everyone was very welcoming. Breakfast and leisure areas (swimming pool) were not crowded which allowed our break to be very relaxed.
Such a nice family host who will help you regarding everything Avola related. For non-Italian tourists as us this was a great place in Sicily to spend the vacation. Many thanks to Martin and his wife. Very good breakfast with many sweets.
We´ve spent ten wonderful days in lovely Avola with Irene and Giuseppe. They helped us for any issues and the house and area was fantastic. The kids loved the pool, also garden shower and barbecue was great! Thank you for hosting us.
Everything, in particular the great hospitality of the staff of the structure, the clean of room e good breakfast every morning.
And Giusy helps and advises you for tours in the beautiful cities and fabulous beaches of Sicily
very nice recently refurbished apartment in the center of Avola with private parking space (although sometimes full possibly because of illegal parkers…). Nice kitchen, great bath room, good bed.
Amazing people managing the hotel, very kind-hearted and helpful. Beautiful hotel. Great swimming pool. Super tasty breakfasts. Everything was perfect, we didn’t want our vacation to end!
