Takasagoya Ryokan ligger i Zao Onsen, 2 minuters promenad från Zao Hotsprings skidort, och erbjuder boende med gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. Family friendly (we were family of 6, 8 yo, 14 yo , 18 yo and 3 adults), the hosts/owner was very accommodating, kind and helpful. Room was clean, traditional tatami room, also kept clean every morning. The dinner and breakfast is a must have if you want to experience traditional, delicious, home cooked Japanese meal (locally sourced). Few mins walk from all the 3 public onsens which is very convenient, you get to try them for free too (the ryokan provides the coupons for you). The inhouse public onsen is also a great option, a few steps from the rooms. For those who ski/snowboard, it is also a few minute walk from the Ski resort (ski ticketing/renting area). You can buy lift tickets from the ryokan at a discounted rate as well They also assisted is in shipping (Takuhaibin) our 5 luggage of ski gears to our next destination.

Boasting natural hot spring baths, Hohoemino Kuyufu Tsuruya is located a 15-minute walk from JR Tendo Station, 50 km from Sendai. Our stay here was impressive, we had the deluxe family room, which was spacious and had a cozy Japanese vibe to it. The hotel staff was amazing and even though I changed our arrival day like 10 times and we arrived so late in the evening, dinner was prepared for us and we had a private traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast. can’t recommend this hotel enough.

Featuring free property-wide WiFi, a spa centre and a seasonal outdoor pool, Matsushima Ichinobo offers accommodation in Matsushima. Everything is amazing. It is expensive, but you get what you pay. I recommend staying for at least 2 nights. I stayed for only one night, and I think I could have enjoyed more (like the gardens and the free rental bike service) if I had more time. Having said that,I thoroughly enjoyed my bedroom, the lounge, restaurant, the baths. The free all you can eat ice cream in the lounge was also a positive surprise.

Tagoto features a hot public bath, Japanese-style and Western rooms and Japanese cuisine, a 5-minute drive from Aizu Wakamatsu Station. The food was delicious, plentiful and allowed us to try traditional cuisine as well as some new foods we hadn't tried before. An open mind is required for some of the sashimi's. The futon beds were very comfortable and the bathing room was amazing. The hostesses were so friendly and helpful, we were travelling with our 10 month old and they all loved him and were understanding when he was loud at times. We would love to stay here again in the future. Knowing basic Japanese or using Google translate is highly recommended if visiting this accomodation.

Tamonkan ligger i en historisk byggnad i japansk stil, omgivet av heliga berg och orörd natur. Gratis te och snacks serveras på hotellet. Dewa Shrine ligger 8 minuters promenad bort. Beautiful building, lovely hosts, delicious food. I would love to visit the area again and stay at Tamonkan.

Miyamaso Takamiya ligger knappt 10 minuters promenad från linbanan Zao Sky och har 9 naturliga varma källor. Hotellets trästruktur erbjuder boende i traditionell japansk stil. An exceptional and authentic experience. The food was delicious, the staff was so welcoming and professional. This place heals your body and soul. 12/10!! We will be back for sure, recommended!!!

Located a 7-minute walk from Gosho Lake, Shikitei Morioka TsunagiOnsen offers free WiFi and indoor/outdoor hot spring baths. JR Morioka Train Station is a 25-minute drive from the property. Polite and friendly staff. Great food. Good onsen. Nearby lake and view is beautiful.

Yasuragino Yado -Iyashino Yu- ligger i Kitakami, 42 km från Chūson-ji-templet, och erbjuder boende med gratis WiFi och gratis privat parkering. I didn't take the breakfast, so I can't comment on it. Location was good for me since I wanted to walk everyday.

Yukemuri no Yado Inazumi Onsen erbjuder rum i Yuzawa. Gäster på detta boende med 4 stjärnor kan njuta av utsikten över bergen i samtliga rum, och de har även tillgång till ett termalbad. The surroundings, cleanliness, service, facilities and food.

Oyado Morinone ligger i Kaminoyama, inom 17 km från Zao Hotsprings skidort och 19 minuters promenad från Kaminoyama-Onsen station, och erbjuder boende med en trädgård och gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen... This was the most elegant and restful stay of my life. Food is incredible - deserves a bib gourmand! Rooms are large and comfortable with a view. Onsen is lovely. The best is the free alcohol and hot drink service in the evenings around the fireplace. Definitely stay here if you can! It’s once in a lifetime type stuff
