The cutest bnb with the cutest cat and the kindest host! Room was awesome, I had the Japanese style room with the garden view/patio, it was very spacious and comfortable, there's even a massage chair! The bathroom and onsen facilities were great, was clean and had everything you needed. Location was good, maybe 6mins to town, 15/20min to the village. It's a small town so easy to walk everywhere. Lawsons is next door and a bbq place around the corner which I didn't get a chance to try out. Kitchen is well stocked especially if you just want to eat something at the hotel (I couldn't find an izakaya that had space for walk ins - it was Sunday). Price is very reasonable!

All guest rooms in the ryokan are fitted with a flat-screen TV. The rooms are fitted with a private bathroom with free toiletries, while certain rooms will provide you with mountain views. All units will provide guests with a desk and a kettle. From the time we arrived we were welcomed greatly and was greeted by staff in our native language which took us by surprise. Apparently there are many staff versed in different languages to assist guests from around the world. I was impressed. The room was huge and the amenities were all there, it did not lack anything. I loved that they provided a rubber duck for the kids to play with in the private bath area. The view from our room was great - overlooking the steamy scenery of Beppu. I loved the private bath, we got an indoor and outdoor one, though the outdoor one is very dark at night since there were no lighting probably around the bath probably to protect privacy. The food served for breakfast and dinner were decent. We liked the teppanyaki dinner and the kids meals were delicious.

The rooms and futons were great and comfortable! Common space kitchen was well supplied and the onsen was nice as well.
Stayed at a tatami style room, the room is clean and comfortable. Free public bath. Location is around 10 min walk from station. Very near to bus stop, shopping mall and takegawara onsen. Breakfast is Japanese style, which is quite good.
The room is large enough for our family of 4 sleeping on the futon is nice and comfy we enjoyed the sumptous meals are served in the private dining rooms at L1 The in-room onsen is a good experience Location is not fantastic but we appreciate the free parking and convenience of loading luggage [lift in building]
The staff was lovely and helpful and there’s an area where you can get a cup of tea, water etc The room was comfortable and also had a basin and toilet. Just the bath tub is shared, you’re supposed to use the onsen. They provide a yukata and slippers too. Location is good for the places of interest, but it’s far from the station when you have to push a heavy luggage and walk among the hundreds of tourists. All in all though, much better than what I thought it would be!
Well, not quite sure how but we got the best room in the place. Six tatami bedroom with an eight tatami living room, terrace onto a private zen garden, and en suite toilet. The onsen are great, with a large shared onsen inside a cave (gender segregated), and a private bath available by booking. The bar with an open fire is a great place to relax after the onsen.
The onsen was definitely the highlight! Love that they provide a yukata and geta for you to wear to the onsen as well!
The outdoor onsen in amazing, and because it’s a smaller ryokan I had the place to myself for long periods of time. Utter bliss!
Thank you for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. A dreamlike ryokan nestled in the middle of a small gorge surrounded by lots of forest. The onsen were a dream with a direct view of the river and forest. The varied and diverse food in the evening and morning was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and could fulfil our every wish. The pick-up service from the train station was also great. We can only warmly recommend the Ryokan to anyone who wants to forget everyday life. This is exactly the right place.
I had been looking forward to stay in a ryokan for years and this experience met all expectations. You can feel it is run by a family because of the warm atmosphere. Everything was clean and well organised, they even offered us a ride to the station. The onsen were perfect and so relaxing. The food was exceptional, such a nice treat! I was a bit nervous in advance but we felt very welcome, like at home!
Toshi is the absolute MVP. He’ll welcome you with smiles, laughs and make you feel at home. He’ll give you all types of advices, especially on hot springs cause he’s an Onsen Master too (for real). Moreover he’s a anime fan ^^ Thanks a lot mate you made my trip and I’ll keep food memories of it, for sure.
