We were greeted by extremely friendly staff who helped us with every little thing, from taking our luggage to ordering a taxi for our departure. We were served luxurious meals for dinner and breakfast in our room, by staff who set our table and made our bed. The location was magical with beautiful nature and deers roaming around outside. They had an amazing natural hot spring bath as well. Would warmly recommend this place.

The onsen is spectacular and is worth a stay for that alone. In addition, the tatami throughout the building adds a great relaxing vibe to the hotel. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and clean. The hotel is well decorated and breakfast is excellent (although expensive at 2300 yen per person). Staff were friendly and helpful. This is a great place to base a Nara trip. I would return in a heartbeat.
The room was fantastic. It was huge, especially by Japanese standards. The location was great, short bus ride from the main JR station and walking distance to the other station with connections to Osaka and Kyoto. The onsen was lovely with an open air pool. Very clean. The room had all the amenities you’d need, including Yukata and slippers as well as decent toiletries. There was a separate bath and toilet in a very large bathroom with a separate dressing area
Located only a couple short streets away from the Nara park complex. Private onsen times available. Typical Ryokan style rooms, but kept very clean. Lovely staff who speak great English. Would definitely stay again.
The host was an extremely nice and lovely lady. The stay offered many possibilities to experience authentic japanese ryokan (outfits, bath, room, breakfast etc.) The bath was free and the view was amazing. You could reach the location relatively easily. The futon and air conditioning ensured that we were not cold even though it was late February. If in need of more options with shops or restaurants, the cable car nearby could take you easily and cheaply down to Ikoma town.
This is a nice and cozy ryokan. The rooms are clean and quiet and it has a wonderful onsen. The top attractions of Nara are all in walking distance and many small shops are around. Would definitely come again.
We loved the onsen and the beautiful tatami decor - it was very serene. The Japanese breakfast was so good too. Great location too.
This place was exactly what I was looking for. A quiet ryokan with a private tattoo-friendly onsen. My room was big and the futon was very comfy. I appreciated the complimentary water and a kettle to make tea. Everything was so good, thank you! I will definitely come back.
My son and I loved this ryokan. We had previously paid $300 per night at a ryonkan of similar standard in Kyoto and this was almost as much value for a much lower price. The room was huge. The location was the best we'd had during our stay as it is right near the food market and main part of town. The staff were so lovely. The Onsen was wonderful although I recommend getting there soon after 5pm when it is filled as it cools down quickly. The futons and pillows were too hard for us but that is just personal preference.
- almost everything - this hotel is directly at the beginning of the nara deer park. deer are literaly just outside your window. - stunning view at koufuku-ji temple - onsen directly in the hotel - nice staff - wonderfull tradinional room with tatami, futons and yukata - spotlessly clean - price - I would stay here again and I regret that I stayed only one night. I really enjoyed the evening, part of which I spent in my room
