Kamikochi Nishi-itoya Mountain lodge er staðsett 47 km frá Japan Ukiyo-e-safninu og býður upp á gistingu með svölum, garði og sameiginlegri setustofu. Beautiful accomodation, the food was incredible. We were nervous about the food but it exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend for a trip in Kamikochi. Brilliant location to climb Mount Yakedake.

Located in the historical Shibu Onsen district, 渋温泉小石屋旅館 offers both private and dormitory-style guest rooms as well as an on-site restaurant where local dishes, wines and craft beers are available. Amazing staff who were really helpful by providing information and transportation when needed. I was in the shared room / dorm which was quite spacious for three people. They provided clear indications regarding the onsen system. Breakfast options were nice. I recommend it.

Boasting open-air hot spring baths, a heated indoor pool and beautiful Japanese gardens, Senjukaku offers traditional Japanese-style accommodation that has a historic charm. Breakfast was great. Onsen pools were perfect. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Oshi Ryokan er staðsett í aðeins 5 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá sögulega Togakushi-helgistaðnum. Það er hefðbundin gisting á friðsæla fjallasvæðinu, þar sem pílagrímar voru vanir að koma til móts við. The owners were amazing and did everything to make our stay wonderful. I was sick and they made me a special ginger tea which helped me a lot.

Yudanaka Onsen Yamazakiya er í aðeins 10 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá Snow Monkey Park og býður upp á einföld gistirými í japönskum stíl með ókeypis WiFi. Akira and his mother were incredibly accommodating and made us feel at home. They made me dinner and breakfast (gluten free and vegetarian) which was amazing. Their private Onsen is lovely and the room was really comfortable. Would highly recommend

Kadowakikan er í 3 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá Nozawa Onsen-skíðadvalarstaðnum og býður upp á beinan aðgang að skíðabrekkunum, heitt hverabað og ókeypis WiFi. The host is super nice, he gave us a very detailed introduction to Nozawaonsen and helped us with many questions that we didn't understand. We had some good chats. The location is nice, close to Nozawa shuttle bus station, and a public onsen (soto-yu). ~5-10 minutes walk to the village centre. The room we stayed in is Japanese style. The tatami and futon are very clean and comfortable. Great view of the mountains. There is a private sink where you can wash your face and brush your teeth. The toilet and shower are shared, but there are many spaces and they are all very clean.

Tawaraya er í 5 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá Yudanaka-lestarstöðinni og býður upp á gistirými í japönskum stíl með ókeypis WiFi og flatskjá. The service as this Ryokan was 10/10, and was the most authentic one we stayed in during our 4 weeks in Japan. The staff were so lovely, and spoke great English. They showed us to our room, and gave us essentially a "room tour" whilst we drank complimentary tea. They gave us a map with nearby restaurants and ammenties noted on it. The private outdoor onsen was SO nice! You book a slot upon arrival, which you can access in the evening with 30 min slots. The onsen was large and the perfect contrast with the fresh cool air in the evening. Yukatas were provided for us as an option to wear around the hotel - both my partner and I are bigger than the average Japanese person (Wife is plus size, I am 6ft 2) and we both comfortably fit into the ones picked out for us. The only thing that threw us was that during breakfast, they cleared the beds from our room - had we known people would go in, we'd probably have neatened the room a bit haha! P.S don't skip the sushi restaurant a few doors down from the hotel. The sushi was EXQUISITE and they even have a phonetic Japanese to English page at the front so you can have a go at ordering properly with the chef.
