Our room was nice and clean. Most likely recently renovated. We booked half-board and enjoyed dinner and breakfast in a private room, in the old building. Onsen was also nice.

Sanjiro Ryokan is a 5-minute drive from Zao Blueberry Farm and Zao Kokeshi Doll Hall. Eboshi Ski Resort is a 15-minute drive away. The staff was exceptionally nice and welcoming. They were prepared to deal with guests of the world via technology and an open-minded attitude. The food was a delicious collection of the local ocean's best and the service excellent and friendly. We had an amazing time there, especially for a first stop on our Japan journey. Thank you! :D

The host was very welcoming and we had a really nice conversation via google translate that felt like we really connected with her.

The room in traditional style was huge, with beautiful view. The hotel is on the hill, parkin lot is at the foot of the hill, there's an elevator directly to the hotel. They have nice onsen.

There is a private entrance at the ryokan for the convenience of those who stay. The ryokan features family rooms. Super friendly owners! Big and comfortable room with toilet and bath. Very nice small onsen. The whole building is made in Japanese style with small garden, really beautiful! Free tea and coffee anytime
