Bathroom facilities are shared, and the public baths are open 16:00-22:00 and 06:00-09:00 daily. Excellent location, close to Okunoin Temple and Cemetery. Room were clean and warm as it was freezing outside. Breakfast and Dinner were delicious. You could participate in the ceremonies conducted by the temple monks. The night tour was also informative.

Featuring free private parking, the 3-star ryokan is 38 km from Tama Museum. The ryokan has family rooms. This is the best value for memories that we have experienced so far in Japan. From the moment you enter: the guidelines are clear but kind, the staff are welcoming, and the peacefulness surrounds you. If you're physically able, we recommend booking one of the traditional tatami mat rooms for a fuller experience. The food leaves you feeling full but not heavy as it's vegetarian. The whole space is very clean. Certainly get to the main hall early in the morning for a calm beginning to observing the monks' morning sutras. They will hold luggage pre and post check in/out, so explore the town of Koya San. The nearby temples and especially the cemetery warrant about 1 hour each to fully experience them. The Yukata traditional loungewear they provide may (and is encouraged to) be worn everywhere except morning prayers. The onsen within the building is open after dinner until ~9pm. Check it out. Make sure to wash yourself within the onsen room before entering. Lastly, read the information they provide to you the day before your check in so that you are prepared and respectful.

It is located 39 km from Tama Museum and provides luggage storage space. Itakiso Shrine is 45 km away and Jodo-ji Temple is 45 km from the ryokan. Dinner had so many vegan dishes and they were delicious. Breakfast was smaller but still filling. It won't be a western breakfast. The futon ended up being comfy and warm but the halls were cold in the morning. I suggest arriving at the start of check in to take full advantage of everything there is (enjoying the pond, onsen, tea in room while reading the info on ceremonies). Location was great for the big 3 sites, if you don't mind walk 20 minutes in either direction.

At the ryokan, the units have a dressing room, a flat-screen TV and a shared bathroom. The units feature a tatami. The temple building was amazing- so old and beautiful. The staff was very friendly, but most of them spoke very little English. There was some confusion with getting dinner for the evening as it was not included in my reservation. So if you want breakfast or dinner, snd it is not included in your reservation, make sure to tell them you want it as soon as you check in. It was a wonderful experience to stay there! Make sure you go to the Fire ceremony, which was at 1 pm daily. It is free.

Offering a garden and inner courtyard view, 祇園の宿 杏花 is located in Kyoto, 300 metres from Gion Shijo Station and 600 metres from Samurai Kembu Kyoto. Among the facilities at this property are full-day security and luggage storage space, along with free WiFi throughout the property. The ryokan features family rooms. Cannot recommend Gion Kyoka enough. Actually, I'd prefer to give a negative review to prevent everyone from booking this lovely ryokan in the most amazing location in Gion Kyoto. Their team went above and beyond to make arrangements for our party at temples like Saiho-ji. Thank you Miyata-san and the rest of your staff for making our stay exceptional. I hope to visit again soon.

Set in Shirahama, within 200 metres of Shirahama Beach and 1.2 km of Ezura Beach, Shirahama no Yado Daigo offers free WiFi throughout the property. The property is around 2 km from Shirahama Art Museum, 2.1 km from Shirahama Aquarium Kyoto University and 2.7 km from Kishu Museum of Art. The ryokan features family rooms. This place has a 9.1 rating and most reviews seem too good to be true but trust me on this, this place is THAT good. And I would rate this hotel a 100 out of 10 if I can, the high rating is truly deserved. The staff is very kind and welcoming. The rooms are clean, spacious, and the futon is comfortable. The location is great, there are many food places nearby, the beach is just a few minutes walk away (you can even see it from your room depending on where you are placed), and the bus stop which will take you to the station or most places around Shirahama is very near.
