Shizuka was the most amazing host! She greeted us kindly every day, and she went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome on the island. She even prepared local treats for us every day! She gave so many recommendations! The space is very quaint. The semi outdoor shower and kitchen are wonderful. We slept wonderfully listening to the nature sounds. Highly recommend this spot!!!

Simple guest house in a quiet village, just steps from a beach with gorgeous sunrises. The friendly English-speaking host provided everything I needed for my first two days on Ishigaki. I loved the carefully prepared meals (even the miso soup was different all four times!)

We were there at the end of April. The outdoor pool and the onsen inside were wonderful. Free drinks (juice/beer) in the afternoons and free ice cream after onsen were also great. The rooms are very spacious and clean. And the view from Villa Garden, Ocean view was breathtaking. The whole hotel looked beautiful with many flowers and palm trees and banana trees. The hotel also provides a free shuttle bus to the airport.

Great facilites and amenities. We particularly enjoyed the onsen and indoors swimming pool, as well as the size of the room and the breakfast buffet at La Mer. The staff was very friendly and we could also use the airport shuttle.

The main attraction close to Joya is Kabira Bay. Apart frm that, it’s pretty far frm the other attractions. At night, it gets so dark in the area that you can get a clear view of the Milky way and catch the meteor showers! The hotel is super clean and I had alot of fun making the futon. The owner’s exceptionally helpful and helped me get familiar quickly:)

I loved the style of the building, with its strong sense of traditional Japanese materials (wood, tatami, shoji) and quiet atmosphere. I was reminded of Tanizaki's essay "In Praise of Shadows". My room was airy and light, and so quiet and calm. Miyako-san was extremely helpful and kind regarding suggestions for places to visit in Ishigaki, and ensuring I was comfortable during my stay.

Very well equiped guest house: towel, tea, coffee, drinking water, cooking utensils, washing machine, hairdryer... Everything was perfectly clean and the common area is comfortable and has tatami mats. The owner explained everything very kindly and helped as much as possible with organizing day trips.

Simple, but comfortable Tatami-room with Futon-bedding. Very clean. The host, Yamamoto-san was very welcoming and helpful. She shared a lot of useful information and prepared wonderful breakfasts, both Japanese and Western style. We had a lovely time in this hotel.
